Hi James. Firstly my compliments on your work on the serpin page, and your willingness to share your professional experience with us on Wikipedia. I started the serpin page with only rudimentary knowledge of the most important serpins, and learnt stuff as I went along. It is striking how many systems require serpins for optimum functioning.

Perhaps I should qualify my statement in the edit summary: we cannot say that every case of thrombosis is due to serpinopathy. I'm sure the statement can be reintroduced with sufficient detail, e.g. deficiency of α₁-antitrypsin can cause emphysema and cirrhosis and antithrombin deficiency is a rare but significant risk factor for thrombosis. Hello, I've gone through the Serpin article and made some changes that should make it suitable for Featured article nomination. There are still a couple of things that I've not got the expertise to address. If you've a moment, your input on a few questions on the talk page would be very helpful. Once you've had a look, I'll submit it for Featured Article.
