Mohammadabad-e Alam (Persian: محمداباد علم, also Romanized as Moḩammadābād-e ʿAlam)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Mahyar Rural District of the Central District of Qaen County, South Khorasan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,395 in 323 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,589 people in 415 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,575 people in 449 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
