English: This mihrab was transferred from the Great Mosque of al-Nuri in Mosul, Iraq to the Iraq Museum in Baghdad. It dates to the reign of Nur ad-Din Zengi, 12th century CE (6th century AH). The mihrab is 3.35 by 2.44 meters is decorated with floral motifs and Quran verses (āyāt) from the holy Quran. Al Imran surah, ayat 18 and 19; "Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam". Stone. It is on display at the Islamic Gallery of the Iraq Museum in Baghdad.
