When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! • You need to slow down with the CSD tagging, such as here and here. Incorrect speedy deletion tags can be very disruptive. Moreover, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with most of the redirects that you've been tagging. signed, Rosguill talk 06:16, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Haikyu!! (season 1). If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. • Just to clarify, it does appear that a number of the episode summaries have been copied from the sources mentioned on the deletion tag. If you wish to contest the deletion you should remove all of the summaries that appearto have been copied from other sources. --AussieLegend () 00:04, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Even you can by reading them that they written here first, then copied on to another website. I seen this happened alot of times. I even left a in the talk page that that everything was copied from List of Haikyu!! episodes. SpectresWrath (talk) 00:31, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I checked back to the first version of List of Haikyu!! episodes, on 31 August 2015‎, created by Aninonymous. The apparently copied text was present in that version, and in all later versions. And in those cases where minor changes were made to the text, the older version was closer to that now on themoviedb.org /tv/60863-haikyuu/episodes?credit_id=5a0b0acf925141310f01ac20&person_id=5385d0180e0a26144d001421, which appears to date from before 2015. This is a classic situation when the Wikipedia text was in fact copied long ago from an external source, and then gradually modified. I am very aware of the "backwards copy" kid of situation, where another site copies from Wikipedia and is then claimed to be the source, and I have rejected a number of tags for speedy deletion when I could show that it applied. It doesn't appear to me to be th4e case here. I have therefore deleted Haikyu!! (season 1), and all but the few recent revisions of List of Haikyu!! episodes that do not contain the episode summaries. If you can show me any trustworthy evidence that the external page was first created after 31 August 2015‎, that would make a difference.Unfortunately the Internet Archive does not apparently does not capture this site, I suspect because it is generated dynamically from a database. I am sorry, and this was none of your doing, but the copyright policy on Wikipedia is strict. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 01:34, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, before you do significant copies from one page on Wikipedia to another, please read Copying within Wikipedia for the proper procedures. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 01:34, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Can you at least show me the history link from 17:54, 28 June 2020 so I can restore the page without the summaries because this isn't right for other people. SpectresWrath (talk) 02:50, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Season summary articles movings

SpectresWrath, greetings. I have noticed your recent actions in terms of moving for anime season summary articles. While I agree with the naming conventions as per WP:TVSEASON, I believe all summary articles of a particular series should be renamed, including season 1 as well as per WP:TITLECON. All summary articles of a particular series should be consistent. Unnamelessness (talk) 06:16, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you give me an example. SpectresWrath (talk) 22:02, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What I've done:
Date A Live (season 1)Date A Live I for the consistency of "Date A Live + [a roman numeral]".
Some other series should've done:
  1. A Certain Magical Index (season 1)A Certain Magical Index I for the consistency of "A Certain Magical Index + [a roman numeral]".
  2. Psycho-Pass (season 1)Psycho-Pass 1 for the consistency of "Psycho-Pass + [a natural number]".
Naming conventions need to be consistent as per WP:TITLECON. It just cannot be like XXX (season 1) for the first season, XXX 2/3/4 for the rest seasons. Article names should be fixed in one style. Unnamelessness (talk) 03:49, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@SpectresWrath:, You obviously don't understand what I mean. Unnamelessness (talk) 08:20, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, I understand after seeing it, but the official title for season one doesn't have the one in it, so renamed it with (2013 TV series) like how High School DxD season one has it. SpectresWrath (talk) 20:53, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@SpectresWrath:, The High School DxD series is another situation. Season 2/3/4 have their independent names, i.e. New, Born, Hero, so the naming conventions are their official names. However, the official name of season 1 is High School DxD, which has already been occupied, so we need an extra "(2012 TV series)" for disambiguation as per WP:NCTV.
As for series like Date A Live, they are in another scenario. Their naming conventions are "[series name] + [season number]", except for season 1, which is inconsistency in terms of Wikipedia's naming rules. Season 1 should've named in the same format, not just its official name. For some other examples, you can go and check The Amazing Race series. Unnamelessness (talk) 02:55, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I see you are moving article content again, without proper attribution. You know, or you should know, how to do this properly. Drmies (talk) 21:25, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Simplifying Toonami English airdates on episode list articles

Hey SpectreWrath, I think it's about time we had a discussion, whether here or bringing it to Toonami's talk page for public consensus, on how we should add English airdates of Toonami going forward, atleast, on the actual anime episode lists that is.

There have been several incosistencies (especially recently with the edit war at Attack on Titan (season 4)'s page about if the date should reflect the promotional or actual airdate) and its just shown how much of a complete mess this has been. Its not just that: Black Clover, Boruto, Kill la Kill, and several other episode lists have editors using the calendar date (Sunday) of broadcast.

Many late-night anime airdates in Japan (post-24:00, or 12:00 a.m. JST) for episode articles have been using the actual date instead of the promotional date, and I believe Toonami should follow this editing standard.

Here's my editing proposal and reasons and why this should be the case:

  • First and foremost, I think we should keep List of programs broadcast by Toonami with the Saturday dates as is, due to the disclaimer of the dates being used are Toonami's promotional dates.
  • Going forward, with all Toonami anime episode premieres that air AFTER 12:00 a.m. ET, the date on episode lists should reflect its actual broadcast date. This will simplify airdate editing and fix the incosistencies we are experiencing. Any premiere that happens BEFORE 12:00 a.m. ET should remain with the Saturday date. (Currently, Toonami does not have a timeslot pre-12:00 a.m. ET, so this will be easy to implement for the immediate future).
  • Why Eastern Time?: We will do this because of three factors: #1, this is the timezone Adult Swim focuses their promos on. #2, this is the timezone Adult Swim HQ is located in. #3, ET and PT airtimes are the same because the West Coast generally uses a 3 hour delayed feed.
  • I also have a basis for this change: if you go to Adult Swim's schedule (https://www.adultswim.com/schedule/) and go on shows, depending on what timezone you are in, it'll show you the actual date instead of the promotional date.

Any thoughts? I felt like you are one of the people I had to talk about this with the most. This is a compelling case I presented, and this consensus wouldn't cause anymore edit warring because we could source this back here or Toonami's talk page. GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 01:07, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you because theirs too many issues for airdates even though Toonami and Adult Swim are the official sources. Plus, we should mention it on the talk page too before it starts another edit war. SpectresWrath (talk) 02:44, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This should be a pretty straight forward case considering this is how Japan's original airdates are done for late night anime. I don't think we will have any problem implementing this.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 02:53, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SpectresWrath: I have begun the process of moving dates. This process will be slow and diffucult, especially when I have to go and fact check the timeslots. I've already noticed that a few ORIGINAL air dates from Japan have the promotional date, too, so not only do I have to go over Toonami air dates, but I have to check and make sure these original ones are correct with the available sources I have.
The good news is, it's pretty easy to backtrack Toonami air dates thanks to this Wiki Fandom page, even including the sources from Toonami Facebook! Anyways, feel free to help me out if you want, but you'd have to review and check official sources until you are sure.GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 05:21, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Which series have to be fixed? SpectresWrath (talk) 01:59, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SpectresWrath: I am about 75% done with Toonami airdate transitions, so it looks like I won't be needing your help. Hopefully I should be done sometime this week.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 02:26, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Naruto Shippuden season 16

I appreciate the addition of the English air date side in preparation for the Adult Swim airing, but let's try to keep it within reach. While this one can stay up, I don't think we should do it to all following seasons due to Toonami's tendencies to remove long running anime like One Piece and Boruto from the schedule. Luckily it does not look like that will happen, but just in case.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 06:20, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. SpectresWrath (talk) 16:34, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks You!

Hello. Thanks a lot SpectresWrath for your magnificent work Naruto Shippuden episode lists. I'm very thankful to you for adding episode numbers within the seasons for all 21 seasons that I originally wanted to do myself but I was honestly struggling with just learning how to create columns. I'm sorry for the late response I should've thanked you earlier but I was actually blocked for open proxy. I have no idea what open proxy means (I tried learning on the wiki page but I'm sure my connection is secure). Anyway, thanks a bunch for helping me out so greatly. — Murtaza9761 (talk) 08:28, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of programs broadcast by Toonami

Sorry, but JoJo is leaving the lineup for good. It's perfectly sourced on many sites, including The Verge, that Netflix will be airing Stone Ocean and SPIRAL CURSE DEMARCO is Jason DeMarco's verified account, blue checkmark and all. I'm disappointed, too, but it's all true. I am reverting the edit. Matty-chan (talk) 03:14, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I know its true but doesn't need to be mentioned in notes. SpectresWrath (talk) 04:37, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring on A Certain Scientific Accelerator (TV series)

Hello, this is the first time I have heard that an episode table is under a broadcast section. Can you give me a proof of that? Okay, I modeled the sections to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so try to edit that. I am pretty sure that the Marvel Cinematic Universe task force will revert your edit like what I am doing with your edit on the Accelerator article. Centcom08 (talk) 16:29, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Scarlet Nexus (TV series)#Broadcast, 86 (novel series)#Anime, The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat#Anime, The Faraway Paladin#Anime, Platinum End#Anime and a bunch of anime that aren't long enough to be separated from its main page. I didn't even know the A Certain Scientific Accelerator episodes were separated because its a short anime and didn't need a page in my opinion. SpectresWrath (talk) 19:44, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The first example you have given doesn't follow MOS:TVRELEASE and the rest are not television articles so that doesn't count as the proof I wanted. I created a separate article for it because it has a lot of information that can be used to make a standalone article instead of being a summarized section of an article of the same name. You know, those articles you've mentioned, they have a ton of information if you read and watch some interviews worth notability instead of standard "announcement" info that I've seen in MAJORITY of anime articles. Centcom08 (talk) 20:21, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I gave you examples for the episode list. SpectresWrath (talk) 20:25, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Again, can you please give me a sample of a television article with the episode table that is located on the Broadcast section or any television article that follows MOS:Television since A Certain Scientific Accelerator (TV series) is a television article? Centcom08 (talk) 20:31, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Attack on Titan (TV series) SpectresWrath (talk) 20:32, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The article doesn't have a BROADCAST section so this doesn't serve as a proof I wanted. Centcom08 (talk) 20:38, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When making this block, I'm ignoring the numerous false speedy deletion notices you have gotten- instead, I am basing it on warnings you have received for copying individual plot summaries. You were first warned about this in December 2020, and were again warned in April 2021- there, you claimed "I put a source right next to it though. That still doesn't count." If I am understanding what you are saying there correctly, you purposely pasted the content in because you believe that it's ok to copy from a website as long as it is cited. This is not accurate- even if the website is cited, it is not ok to copy from. This lines up with your recent edit to The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest- you cited the source you copied from in the edit. You have over 8000 edits, you cannot continue to edit with this misapprehension. If you want to be unblocked, you must demonstrate a better understanding of copyright and commit to not copying from sources. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 05:11, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To be clear, there is nothing wrong with adding a reference a plot summary. The problem is with you copying text from the reference. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 00:34, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's why I add the ref to it but at this point there's no reason in arguing anymore since you agree with me adding a ref and I should've just tried to make an original summary for those three pages I edited over the years. SpectresWrath (talk) 01:20, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

{{unblock reviewed |1=This is my final time trying "unblock" because I did it too many times already so let's straight to the point. I have read the COPYVIO link given to me, especially the section about "Addressing contributors" but I truly have nothing else to say anymore. At this point you can only trust me not to do it again or fully block me from everything. [[User:SpectresWrath|SpectresWrath]] ([[User talk:SpectresWrath#top|talk]]) 01:45, 15 January 2022 (UTC) |accept = accept reason here ~~~~}}

Someone else will review your request, but it is unlikely you will be unblocked based on "trust me". You must demonstrate your understanding. 331dot (talk) 12:45, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly don't know what else to say anymore to convince everyone to let me edit again. I read the COPYVIO and it basically says do not copyright unless the copyright holder wishes to "donate" it. Otherwise, we editors are suppose to remove the text while admins remove the copyright history and block the editor adding it. SpectresWrath (talk) 17:17, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do you understand that you should not copy plot summaries from other places, and do you commit to not copying them in the future? Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 18:55, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
