Final warning: please stop changing image copyright tags
Alx 91, please stop changing image copyright tags as you did [ here], [ here], [ here], [ here] and again [ here]. Those images are candidates for deletion and should remain so unless the uploader, not you, changes the image copyright tag, adds a source and indicates who the copyright owner is. Tagging an image with Template:Fairuse or Template:Promotional is not a cure-all that will save the image from deletion; we must still know who the copyright owner is, what his or her intent for the image was and what license the image is under. Neither you nor I can answer those questions unless we at least contact the uploader of the image.

Alx 91, I, in addition to other users, have tried on multiple occasions to engage in conversation with you [ here], [ here], [ here], [ here], [ here] and [ here] in addition to attempts at the Wikimedia Commons and others' attempts [ here], [ here] and [ here]. I am astonished: you have neither replied even once to any of these comments nor addressed the concerns in your editing patterns. You are seriously compromising the integrity of Wikipedia, jeopardizing our security by repeatedly changing image copyright tags without the necessary knowledge, and are ignoring all requests to stop.

This is your last warning, please stop. Any further edits in this pattern and I will formally request at WP:AIV that you be blocked in order to prevent any further damage or disruption that you may cause to Wikipedia. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo megacable.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo megacable.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Hnakata.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hnakata.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image:AS ROMA Logo.jpg

I've reverted your edits on AS Roma. I don't see any reason behind the change of logo: additionally, your version, Image:AS ROMA Logo.jpg, does not look good with that ®, and is in JPEG format (you should prefer either PNG or SVG for logos on Wikipedia, JPEG is for photos only and has no trasparency feature). --Angelo 01:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Laura berg.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Laura berg.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add Replaceable fair use disputed, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peter O. (Talk) 02:16, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Image copyright problem with Image:Imagen 590 0001.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Imagen 590 0001.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peter O. (Talk) 18:53, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TWIX ICE CREAM.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:TWIX ICE CREAM.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as fair use or article name, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Unspecified source for Image:Osterman2006.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Osterman2006.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:03, 5 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Jtalledo (talk) 12:03, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Imagen 285.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Imagen 285.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already.

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Thank you. I think you are very confused on this subject. First of all, I didn't replace any image. I've never seen the image of the red car before, I only uploaded the image of the grey car to the Commons. Secondly, an image is only fair use "where the image is unrepeatable, i.e. a free image could not be created to replace it", and free images have already been created so it fails fair use. You're talking to the wrong person, and you have your facts mixed up. IFCAR 17:49, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:WalmartTorreon.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:WalmartTorreon.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof 15:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Mexican HEB.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mexican HEB.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add Replaceable fair use disputed, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Image tagging for Image:Soriana_San_Jose_del_Cabo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Soriana_San_Jose_del_Cabo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Bus Image

I notice you changed the licencing on the image:

File:Saturday 011.jpg

, a few months ago you changed it to a fair user and it is nowbeing proposed for speedy deletion because It is a fair use image and it was originally released into the public domain by ,e as I took the picture, I have changed it back to its original status and left a comment on the nominantors talk page, I would kindly like to ask why you changed the licencing on the image unnecessarily, I will shorly remove the deletion tag as it is a public domain image used on a few articles, I would politely ask you to be more careflu in the future when doing this. Fair use rationale for Image:Wnews42 - fromages.JPG.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Wnews42 - fromages.JPG.jpg.

Thank you.

Image:Sylvester Publicity Photo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sylvester Publicity Photo.jpg.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 48 hours after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 11:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you uploaded the image Image:Sylvester Publicity Photo.jpg with the Promotional fair use image tag. However, it appears that this tag is totally unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:Sylvester Publicity Photo.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:Sylvester Publicity Photo.jpg can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the Promotional tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the article name that the image is used in tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can reupload it but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Jesse Viviano 06:48, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Foros Integridad phpBB.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Foros Integridad phpBB.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.

Thank you. Jesse Viviano 08:18, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright tag changes at Image:1Chris UT.JPG

Alx 91, how do you know that Image:1Chris UT.JPG should be tagged copyrighted? You did not upload the photograph. Are you in contact with the uploader? --Iamunknown 02:26, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From Template:Promotional: "The copyright for it is most likely owned by the company who created the promotional item or the artist who produced the item in question; you must provide evidence of such ownership. Lack of such evidence is grounds for deletion." What evidence suggests that this image is a promotional image? --Iamunknown 02:39, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

I see you're having a problem with the whole "fair use" license for the picture you've uploaded. I remember back in the days when all pics were under fair-use and almost every page had a nice little pic to go along with it. Only a few months ago did a few guys (not going to name names) decide to clamp down on fair-use pics, which resulted in most to them being deleted. =(
I stopped using the fair-use license altogether and instead got screenshots and U.S. gov pics instead. Those license are fortunately very clear and not under scrutiny.
Oh...and you might want to archive your talk page. Jumping cheese Cont@ct 12:16, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:LeonArco.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:LeonArco.gif.

Thank you.

Image tagging

Please stop adding GFDL tags to images that are not released under the GFDL. It's disruptive, and it can get you blocked. —Angr 04:59, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image licensing

Alx, read what Angr said. Stop modifying others' image copyright tags or be blocked. Please. You are making a lot of work for other people. --Iamunknown 06:15, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning: please stop changing image copyright tags

Alx 91, please stop changing image copyright tags as you did here, here, here, here and again here.

Alx 91, I, in addition to other users, have tried on multiple occasions to engage in conversation with you here, here, here, here, here and here in addition to attempts at the Wikimedia Commons and others' attempts here, here and here.

Regards, Iamunknown 22:46, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
