Lady Gabriella Windsor (Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia Windsor) is an English journalist and a member of the extended British Royal Family. She uses the byline Ella Windsor for professional purposes.
She is the only daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, a grandson of George V and Queen Mary, and Princess Michael of Kent (née Baroness Marie-Christine von Reibnitz). She was born on 23 April 1981 in St. Mary's Hospital, London, England and has an older brother, Lord Frederick Windsor (born 6 April 1979). Her father is a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and so Lady Gabriella is a first cousin once removed of the Queen. She is also related to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh since he and her paternal grandmother Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent are first cousins. That is, Lady Gabriella and Prince Philip are first cousins twice removed.
Ella was educated at Downe House School, Cold Ash, Thatcham, Berkshire[1]. In May 2004, Lady Gabriella graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature. She has written for Hola (Hello Magazine's Spanish Edition), The Spectator, The Mail on Sunday, and other publications. She also interned for Woman's Weekly where she met her ex-boyfriend Indian Aatish Taseer whom she dated for three years before splitting up in October 2006. Aatish is the son of a wealthy Sikh mother and a Muslim father, a newspaper proprietor from Pakistan.
Gabriella is known as a muse of Ralph Lauren and has worn British designers often, such as Giles Deacon, Philip Treacy, and Vivienne Westwood.
