:Hey mister: "Bengaluru" is the Official Name of the city, which was anglicised by the British as Bangalore. Can I call your "London" as "Landana", "Cambridge" as "Kammibride"? Stick to Native Names and their pronunciation. It's not "Hubli" it's HUBBALLI, it's not "Mysore" it's MYSURU, it's not "Mangalore" it's MANGALURU and if you are referring to my recent edits to Chikmagalur page, it's "CHIKKAMAGALURU". Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Madikeri, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 17:54, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Kodagu district, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 13:51, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kodagu is my home district. The contents I add are the visual analysis made by me using numerous website. I usually update weather and climate stuff. Its source is from www.ksndmc.org I KNOW WHAT COORG IS. Suyodhana 95 (talk) 05:39, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not interested in who you are, where you live, what you "know", your "visual analysis", or even what you have "researched".
Wikipedia is only interested in what has already been published in reliable, independent sources, published by a body with a reputation for fact-checking - No blogs, no self-published sources, no bodies with a conflict of interest, no promotional sites, no vanity publishers and no predatory publishers.
These sources must be properly cited, in order to support any additions to, or changed in, our pages, so the information can be verified as true at any time in the future.
The responsibility for providing citations is solely on whoever adds or changes any information, to provide references from reliable sources that support those additions or changes. Unsourced additions and changes are highly likely to simply be reverted. - Arjayay (talk) 13:33, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just go through their profile, you ignorant man. All Notable people are from Kodagu. Don't you have time to cross-check them.. You can just do it by a Single-click. What reliable source do you need Suyodhana 95 (talk) 14:31, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Kodagu district. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

Disambiguation link notification for October 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kodagu district, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brahmagiri. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Shivmogga Town Railway Station moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Shivmogga Town Railway Station, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:06, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Suyodhana 95. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Shivmogga Town Railway Station".

Indic script - again

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Madikeri, you may be blocked from editing.
It was clearly explained, above, that you should not add Indic script to our articles, but have continued to do so, please stop. - Arjayay (talk) 10:00, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There's a column at page preview called "How did you improved the page" and there I have clearly mentioned that the "Netravathi River" page contained indic script and I have copied exactly the same thing here. Why do you allow indic scripts in one page and not in another? Suyodhana 95 (talk) 10:08, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We don't - it has was deleted from Netravati River at 10.01 - Arjayay (talk) 10:57, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Hanagodu, Hunsur

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Hanagodu, Hunsur. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Hanagodu. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Hanagodu. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Greyjoy talk 19:53, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Common name

Maintain the WP:COMMONNAMES of the articles in Wikipedia. That is refrain from changes like 'Bangalore' to 'Bengaluru', when the former is the common name in Wikipedia. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:23, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
