I would much like that article moved somewhere so it doesn't in any way seem to anyone like it's anything even remotely official. I'd do it myself, but I don't know where to put it. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 17:01, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I reverted your removal of the link from Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Header , because it appears to be that at least one Arb Comm member (Paul August) has not posted their full views. Catchpole 17:33, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Your question

You say in the question, "Desribe some approriate lengths of time to apply protection to pages, now that this feature is available"; are you talking about cascading protection specifically? If not, why do you say now that it's available? I'm sorry if this is an inappropriate way to ask for clarification, if it is you can just ignore this. Peace, delldot | talk 02:10, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Now that I think about it, cascading protection probably isn't what you meant, but I was just curious about the now that it's available wording. Peace, delldot | talk 02:15, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding and clarifying, I appreciate it. Peace, delldot | talk 03:56, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

RE:40 Anon IP Address Vandals

Hi,

I noticed that you left a note stating that the list here was not clear. Basically this is a list of multiple IP Addresses editing each related page by removing the same template off back to back, is there a way to block all these addresses from future vandalism? User: Akdamien

I see you blocked this user for a week. I am wondering why you gave them a temporary block, since they haven't made any constructive edits. I'm not questioning your judgment - just curious. Natalie 03:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Thank you for your quick reply! Natalie 03:37, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

RE:Block

Regarding User:Wiki Raja/Multiple Sockpuppet Vandals, they are dynamic addresses, apparently from an Indian ISP. I've rangeblocked 59.92.0.0-59.92.255.255 for 8 hours, (anon only), with luck they will go away after that much time. — xaosflux Talk 03:25, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. Any news on the other 38? Regards. Wiki Raja 03:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I almost forgot to mention. These two IP Addresses you blocked were not on my list. Wiki Raja 03:30, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
The block I put on is actually for 59.92.0.0/16, and as a range block will block all address from 59.92.0.0 through 59.92.255.255 (e.g. 59.92.0.1, 59.92.0.2, 59.92.0.255, 59.92.1.1, 59.92.1.2, 59.92.1.255 all the way up to 59.92.255.255). — xaosflux Talk 03:31, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I appreciate your help, but would there be a possiblity of having them blocked permanently? Wiki Raja 03:33, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
It is technically possible, but we generally only indef block 65025 addresses from editing for very serious offenses (such as running farms of open proxies). If they persist I'd start by getting a discussion going at [[WP:AN/I]. — xaosflux Talk 03:35, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I have had the same problem with 10 other IP Address of the similar code for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and had them blocked permanently. There seems to be a continuous deletion campaign going on here.Wiki Raja 03:41, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
These IP's appear to be dynmaic, and from a pool of 65,000, blocked 40 more isn't going to fix anything, and I'm not about to block 65,000 anons over this. But if it's persitant please start a thread at WP:AN/I. — xaosflux Talk 03:58, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. I have reported the situation here. Wiki Raja 06:44, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

The Truth About Peanut Butter

Xaosflux, I wish to create this article. I wish to include the story as told in the Black Mystery Month episode, and will of course, point out that it is a fictional essay and part of an American Dad episode. This will stop vandals, as they will realize that the article has been already created. If you like, you can, of course, lock the article to prevent further edits, as no new information worthy of inclusion could possibly arise. Please tell me what you think. In the mean time, I will create a subpage with a version of this article. It will be located here It is located here.

--Flvg94 14:26, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for replying. I requested the page be unprotected at the unprotection requests page and it was denied, so I don't see why you would unjupe it now. I will, however, expand the article on the episode page. Thanks again --Flvg94 11:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

The account owner for Artistpres (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) came to unblock-en-l and asked for an unblock, indicating that he thought he might have been thought to be spamming accidentally. I reviewed his edits, and your block, and I agree with having done the block. He was clearly spamming. I explained that to him, and after being pointed at WP:RS, Wikipedia:External_links, and Wikipedia:Only make links that are relevant to the context he stated that he understands and agreed to abide by them. Are you willing to unblock him on AGF? Thanks for your time. Georgewilliamherbert 02:56, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Own image in wiki and other websites

Hi Xaosflux, If an user upload an image in Wikipedia / wikimedia (that is taken by himself and licensed it as GFDL or equivalent) and at the same he upload it another website (i.g. Hi5, blog etc.), then is it likely to be deleted. If so then which deletion tag should be applied? I noticed some users uploaded their own images (taken by themselves) in wikipedia / wikimedia as well as in Hi5 and other personal website and blog. It's quite confusing. Image policy says that we can upload our own images (taken by ourselves) in wiki that won't be available in other website. (I forgot that statements location in image use policy page) Give me feedback --NAHID 09:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
P.S. I forgot to say that I notice lot of fair use image without any rational, source and proper license. Sooner or later they are going to get deleted. I'm thinking to add rational, source (If I know the source) and license. Is it okay ot add those stuffs on image page or should we wait for the uploader(Though the resposibilty goes to the uploader) or leave them for deletion ??

Yeah,:) but bit unclear. "Making a disclaimer" does it mean to use this {{Template:GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} (And when I can use it?), {{Template:pd-self}} (Or any GFDL license in wikipedia when I follow the procedures (That when I upload that Image to another website?). If so then what about wikimedia licensing? Do I need to mention another websites URL where I uploaded the same image that's created by myself? Also How can I prove disclaimer?

I left you a message above in P.S. Can you please also calrify that to me also.thanks --NAHID 14:35, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
