Disgrace of Gijón[edit]

I didn't realize that '''tAD''' was still blocked, so I took his silence as "no more objections" to my edit. There is bad blood between us since Brazil v Germany (2014 FIFA World Cup), where ending up it was other editors that agreed to my changes while '''tAD''' didn't participate further. Does '''tAD''' essentially get a veto over my changes to Disgrace of Gijón? JoshDonaldson20 (talk) 15:13, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Patrick Weihrauch[edit]

I fully expect Patrick Weihrauch to make his 2. Bundesliga debut within the next couple of months. Kingjeff (talk) 03:09, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

@Kingjeff: As do I, but that doesn't make him notable now. Speculation as to future potential appearances is never grounds for notability. Sir Sputnik (talk) 03:13, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
I understand it doesn't make him notable now. But why delete an article that, with almost 100% certainty, will be eligible in less than a month? Kingjeff (talk) 03:45, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
@Kingjeff: Why keep a non-notable article, when it can be restored at the click of a button if and when notability guidelines are met? Sir Sputnik (talk) 03:57, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Move request[edit]

Hello,is any chance as an administrator, you can help with moving new created page FC Ungheni to CF Ungheni.this is actually a new formed club in 2013.the link confirming this had been provided.it looks like the old club from this city CS Moldova-03 Ungheni has nothing to do with FC Ungheni.thanks.15:29, 27 July 2016 (UTC)Kolya77 (talk) Rechecked.facebook account does not confirm anything.only the source at divizia-a.com.it's hard to find any information on this matter:) this is Moldova.actually in 2012/13 season the team from Ungheni with the name Abus played in division B. Is not known it was the same CS Moldova-03 Ungheni or new one FC Ungheni).on soccerway this both clubs had different profiles. One user opposed the move from CS Moldova Ungheni to CF Ungheni,so i wanted to know what to do next.put the squad and update infobox on the page CS Moldova-03 Ungheni or leaved with new created article. I'm fine with any decision.thanks. In case you permit CS Moldova-03 Ungheni to be moved to CF Ungheni, so you can delete the new article created today.Kolya77 (talk) 15:57, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

@Kolya77: First of all, I'm not an administrator, so I can't actually move the page myself. What you'll want to do here is start a discussion on the article's talk page requesting a page move. Just follow the instructions at WP:RM#CM. I hope that helps. Sir Sputnik (talk) 19:18, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Dejan Čugalj wikipedia page[edit]

Good afternoon Sir Sputnik. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dejan_%C4%8Cugalj this is Wikipedia page created by my side, from football player Dejan Čugalj from Serbia. This player played professional football in Serbia and Croatia in his young plays, and now he plays in amateur league in Germany, and in the next transfer period he will sign the professional deal in Germany in A team, Regionaliga. Other thing, he is very much all over the world wide web and very popular, so here you can check it, and Wikipedia is the only place where he is not in this momment, so I think that it is needed for sure, because Wikipedia is the biggest world encyclopedia.

web-site: www.dejancugalj.com facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Cugalj10/ twitter page: https://twitter.com/Cugalj10 transfermarkt page: http://www.transfermarkt.ie/dejan-cugalj/profil/spieler/376096# fussball.de page: http://www.fussball.de/spielerprofil/-/userid/01R5BQKQGS000000VS541L4JVT9HBH9R FuPa page: http://www.fupa.net/spieler/dejan-cugalj-976569.html Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/CugaljDejan

So, the player has followers from all over the world, including Serbia, Croatia, Germany, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Canada ext. So, thank you very much and I hope that it will be online for all time, because it is really needed here on Wiki.

@Ikens PR: In order to have a an article on Wikipedia, a subject must meet certain criteria called notability. For footballers, the relevant notability guideline is WP:NFOOTBALL, which says that only footballers who have played for their country's national team or in one of the fully professional leagues listed here. For the countries question, the relevant leagues are the top three divisions in Germany, the top two in Serbia, and the Croatian First League. Čugalj has not played in any of these leagues, meaning he does not qualify for a Wikipedia article at this time. Additionally, as the CEO of a PR company, I strongly suggest you read Wikipedia's guidelines on conflict of interest, particularly the guidelines on paid editing. WP:KARLSRUHER[edit]

There are a couple things You should know about WP:KARLSRUHER. First of all, it is an essay that contains "advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors." Therefore, it is not part of the Policies and guidelines of English Wikipedia. Second of all, WP:KARLSRUHER states "obviously in article prose, a shortened name can be used, once the proper name has been established, to make the text flow more easily. Equally in tables where there is a lack of space, abbreviations can be used, but this is rare on Wikipedia." In the prose, you can find that proper name has been established for several clubs in the prose. Also, in the fixtures and results table, it is very tight inside the table. This is why I no longer use goal difference in the table. Kingjeff (talk) 05:10, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

@Kingjeff: Why not join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Germany task force#2016–17 FC Bayern Munich season instead of here? Also, WP:KARLSRUHER represents a general consensus which is used on many articles, which you seem to be going against. Secret Agent Julio (talk) 06:31, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Transfermarkt @ Mahip Riar[edit]

Dear Sir Sputnik, Thank you for your contributions in my edits. I appreciate what you are doing friend, in keeping Wiki a reliable source. Please check the article again, my 4th source links to page where various media articles from Dnevni Avaz (Primary Bosnian daily news) and Al Jazeera Balkans, are compiled and pictured, collectively confirming all of what has been claimed about the player, however they are pictures of media clippings, and in Bosnian, is this an issue? — Preceding unsigned comment added by VukanCrv (talk • contribs) 13:40, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Jalalabad sports stadium[edit]

In my eyes, the appropriateness or inappropriateness of the move isn't relevant to the issue of G5 speedy deletion — an editor who isn't the creator has made a substantial alteration to the article, so it can't be G5 deleted. I'm also not comfortable moving it back, because STRUCTURE, PLACE is a common form of disambiguation in some contexts; see St Mary's Church, Hanwell for a random example. Being unfamiliar with football stadiums, I won't move it and won't stand in the way of a move; if you want to move it back, there's no technical issue that prevents you from moving it back (admin rights aren't needed), and I'm unaware of any policy/community consensus that would be violated if you moved it back. Invite to the African Destubathon[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:12, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Football players[edit]

Hey. Can i create a page for a player, who hasn't got his debut in his club in a professional league, but has played matches for the U21 national team in for example UEFA Euro 2017? Fodbold-fan (talk) 13:03, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

@Fodbold-fan: No, the guideline on the notability of footballers explicitly says that it doesn't cover youth football: Youth players are not notable unless they satisfy one of the statements above, or if they can be shown to meet the wider requirements of WP:GNG. The requirements for inclusion are debut in a fully professional league or for the senior national team of a FIFA member. I hope that clears things up. Bulgarian footballers - articles for deletion[edit]

You have recently nominated for deletion Georgi Kremenliev, Nikolay Dichev, Pavel Petkov and Kiril Lichev. All these players comply with point 2 of WP:ATHLETE as they have played in Bulgarian Second League (or its equivalent B PFG) which is/was a fully professional league. Would you object if I remove the deletion notices from these articles? Thanks, Yavorescu (talk) 17:31, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

@Yavorescu: I would object. Since the issue of full professionalism of the relevant league is still being discussed at WT:FPL, their notability remains unconfirmed. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:35, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
Sir Sputnik, you also nominated for deletion Tellur Mutallimov. But at WT:FPL there is a sentence about deletion of articles : "It might not provide valid criteria for an AfD nomination, or a noticeboard action or other dispute." So please be clear why you think this articles should delete? --Aabdullayev851 (talk) 18:09, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
