Now, the uncontradicted testimony shows that the directors of the corporation plaintiff never sold or authorized a sale of the two blocks in controversy, nor did its president ever agree to sell them; and that the deed, when signed, was a blank, and was never acknowledged. —the grantee altered a deed to convey two blocks of land without the grantor's consent, after the grantor signed the blank deed, intending that it would be used to convey other property.

If the authority of the agent be not in writing, his insertion of the name of grantor or grantee or description of the property does not pass the title.

It was, of course, incumbent upon the defendant to show a want of consideration, the presumption being that a promissory note was given for a sufficient consideration

The evidence was sufficient to justify the verdict, which conclusion also disposes of the point concerning the motion for a nonsuit

The defendant thereby supplied the omission, if any, in the evidence presented in support of the plaintiff's case, and as a consequence must be held to have waived his motion for a Lonsuit
