Contribution to Newsletter[edit]

I'd like to add some new contents in the newsletter..

Observations related to India in that month

For Next newsletter[edit]

Please consider adding:

A significant number of the new articles received each day are about South Asian topics, mainly biographies and cultural themes, along with the usual spam for companies. There is a huge backlog at the NewPagesFeed and more editors with experience and knowledge of Indian subjects are needed to patrol the pages. If you are already a New Page Reviewer, please help out as much as you can. If you are not, please check out WP:NPP, then take a look at the requirements at WP:NPR and if you feel up to it, apply for the New Page Reviewer right at WP:PERM.

Addition of GAN[edit]

@CAPTAIN MEDUSA: Can we add the Blue Pilgrims GAN here. As I've seen September's GAN was added in the previous archive. Dey subrata (talk) 14:40, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dey subrata, It was nominated on 21 October 2019. Please submit an article that has been nominated in November. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 18:37, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CAPTAIN MEDUSA: I understand your concern, I know we need to add GAN or FLC for that month only but I am curious to know why Rakta Sambandham added in October when the GAN was in September, or List of Jharkhand CM which was also a September GAN, so far I know. Dey subrata (talk) 18:48, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dey subrata, I have started Talk:Blue Pilgrims/GA1; which I will review within a few days. Which will get into the newsletter. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 18:52, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Other additions in the older letters were a mistake. From now it will only be the month's nominations. Thanks for understanding. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 18:56, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, thats why confused, previously forgotten to add the Blue Pilgrims in October, anyway the amount of nomination concerns me, such little amount..if you leave my noms (3) there are only 6 currently...most of biographies are not even "B" class. Anything we can do?? I mostly do on sports, but the sheer number in other fields is something showing this project lacking far behind than other. Dey subrata (talk) 19:09, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CAPTAIN MEDUSA Thanks for opening the riview for the Pilgrims, if you are interested I would like to have your comments there in my two FLCs List of India national football team hat-tricks and the List of highest individual scores in ODIs. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 19:16, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dey subrata, I will take a look. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 19:17, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is Padma Shri a major award?[edit]

There are two deletion requests under discussion at the moment where the basic question is if Padma Shri is a major award, according notability to a person per WP:ANYBIO. The two discussions are Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/P. B. Buckshey and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vijay Prakash Singh. My own personal opinion is that Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of a country of 1.35 billion people is a major one. I am posting this note here as both the articles are of interest from a WikiProject India perspective. --jojo@nthony (talk) 13:01, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tachs, You may want to post this at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. Which is a noticeboard for things like this. Thanks ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 13:03, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Minor copyedit[edit]

The line - "Makes sure to assume good faith while editing the page." .... 's' needs to be removed from Makes. DTM (talk) 09:08, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A suggestion[edit]

Hello, just a suggestion. In the previous two newsletters, the newly nominated articles are kept in bullet form but the newly promoted articles are in prose. I think for consistency and better representation, if we can keep both the list in bulleted form, it will surely look good. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 14:07, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dey subrata, Noted. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 14:24, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reviving the Newsletter[edit]

@CAPTAIN MEDUSA: @Path slopu: I am interested in reviving the monthly newsletter broadly on the previous format. I am also willing to do all the work required if necessary. I am pinging you because both of you were vital in the last time's operation. Would welcome any suggestions, learnings, pitfalls to avoid, content suggestion, why did the newsletter stop, etc. Would also appreciate if any of you would like to join the effort. Thanks.
