I've been informally blocking these folks for block evasion without an SPI, but this is ongoing so I'm noting this in a formal SPI. This editor's been making ongoing disruptive edits to horror film articles (particularly involving the decades in Horror film, originally as 152.86.164.35 (talk+ · tag · contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RBLs · proxy check · block user · spi block · block log · cross-wiki contribs · CheckUser (log)) and IP-hopping elsewhere, recently moving on to named accounts. Jinnifer (and socks) and Penhaot10028 (and socks) have similar editing patterns and edit summaries, and some of the same preoccupations [21][22] to the degree that I think they are likely the same editor, unless the geolocation somehow completely rules that out. Jinnifer's latest sock is using an account name similar to mine in order to carry out their usual routine of asking other editors, including myself, to change the decades sections of the Horror film article, as usual. As tonight's edits have continued to be reverted, they have started to make threats, as Jinnifer has also done in the past. Eventually, they moved on to an IP address, 166.205.222.59, they had used earlier in the day to continue making their usual edits. Since then, another two IP addresses have taken up the cause of removing genres from A Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween (1978 film), which are the exact genre edits previous Jinnifer accounts consistently attempt to make.[23][24] More of the same edits and harassment of user's accounts to make their decades changes coming from Doherclar since the previous lines were written.[25] NJZombie (talk) 23:01, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The first edit was to continue a discussion which was moved to User:Nightscream's talk page, following IP 107.122.97.8 posting at Commons.[33][34] NightscreamJr was clearly continuing their own conversation. Jinnifer's sockpuppets including the blocked IP range Special:Contributions/107.122.97.0/24, blocked socks User:Meihdsusisisu, User:Andrzejbanas2500, and now NightscreamJr have been bugging various people trying to get their attention. All the behavior is identical.

This person keeps coming back to the same talk pages, asking the same question but with different accounts.[35][36][37][38]

An IP with a different geolocation showed up to resume the edit war at one of the affected articles.   • Based on CU data, I'd have to call this Red X Unrelated, but the "switched to a new carrier" theory is certainly plausible. I'm not going to do anything for the moment. I'm loathe to block such a wide range, but I do note that this block was placed by HJ Mitchell so that may provide some relief. I'm going to pass on any sleeper checks for now; if additional socks are found based on behavior, that may provide a better baseline for such a search, but I think it would result in too many false positives with the minimal data we have now.
