The result of the discussion was: rename. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 19:11, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename per actual content, the three subcategories are by ethnicity rather than by descent. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:00, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I added the Brazilian subcategory to the nomination for the same reason. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:10, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 19:12, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete, the category only contains a redirect. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:45, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. There's a ton of other categories for characters by nationality that are also small. AHI-3000 (talk) 21:43, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. It's a single redirect. Mason (talk) 03:57, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. It is not absolutely necessary to replicate the category structure of nonfiction to that of fictional characters. Place Clichy (talk) 21:53, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: dual merge into Category:Buildings and structures in Shelburne, Vermont and Category:Museums in Chittenden County, Vermont. (non-admin closure) HouseBlastertalk 23:57, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category contains one article about a museum and the eponymously named category for the institution. No opposition to recreation if more more articles are written. User:Namiba 15:39, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: rename. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:35, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: I am resolving an issue which prevents the {{Vital article}} template being placed within the {{WikiProject banner shell}}. Currently the class is not being inherited correctly, and to fix this I need to rename these categories to the more standing naming scheme for quality assessment categories. I have notified the project here and there is no opposition. There are quite a lot of categories which need to be renamed. I will try to list them all here, but not sure if I will get them all tagged. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:53, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: Tagging will be handled through WP:AWBREQ.

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: split. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 19:42, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: split, it escapes me why characters with a gendered occupation are ghettoized in a third category. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:41, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Split per nom. I removed Category:Fictional engineers though, which had nothing to do there (it even has its own gendered child Category:Fictional female engineers). Also, a lot of categories are not for gendered occupations, but occupations where different words are used for male and female similar or equivalent roles: kings/queens, princes/princesses, monks/nuns, valets/butlers/maids etc. Place Clichy (talk) 09:44, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Split per nom. I am not even sure why some of these are listed (for instance, I am removing Fictional cheerleaders, which is not gendered). (Oinkers42) (talk) 01:08, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge all as nominated. (non-admin closure) HouseBlastertalk 23:55, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Language and race[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) HouseBlastertalk 23:54, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Just 2 articles there (Racial literacy and Raciolinguistics), both about proposed concepts of a link between people's language and people's race, which do not seem to have a lot of catchment besides their proponents. Theoretically this could be merged to Category:Sociolinguistics or Category:Ethnolinguistics, but looking at both articles it seems to me that they are both already in the best categories for each of them, this one removed.
