The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:British music awards templates. (non-admin closure) Asmodea Oaktree (talk) 10:39, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The category contains a single template. As far as I can tell, the only other BBC Radio 1 award is BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards, which does not have a navbox. —andrybak (talk) 22:22, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Merge per nom Currently we don't seem to have articles on live-action television series without speech, so the two catecories have an identical scope. Dimadick (talk) 17:16, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 18:52, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: I don't know why this category would not just be named after the city Barrackpore. The nominated category is already in categories for cities, so it seems to be acting as an eponymous city category. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:31, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:PERFCAT and WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEFINING)
When foreign leaders or royalty visit Kuwait, or vice versa, one of these awards is given out as souvenir to commemorate the visit. Hassan II of Morocco, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Bill Clinton of the U.S. and Salman of Saudi Arabia are not defined by this award. If you want to see the clutter these categories create at the article level, just look at the train wreck at the bottom of this article. The recipients are already listified here in the main article. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:12, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. MER-C 18:45, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:SMALLCAT and the spirit of WP:C1, an empty category
A battle honour is an award to a military unit for a specific victory and the Sovereign's Bodyguard is a military unit that protects the English monarch. (So far, so good.) But the only article in this category is Sieges of Boulogne (1544–46) which neither mentions a battle honour nor the Sovereign's Bodyguard. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:12, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:21, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete -- This is conflating the battle honours of two military units, the first two listed in the main article Sovereign's Bodyguard, one of which has three battle honour and the other slightly more. I might have voted "populate", but this is in fact a PERFCAT. Allowing categorisation for every battle honour of every military unit would create appalling category clutter. Category:Geological surveying[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Geological techniques. – Fayenatic London 23:00, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: redlink main article; few category members. fgnievinski (talk) 00:05, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose -- On first sight these are the same, but they are not. The target is organisations, probably set up to be cognate with British Geological Survey, which no doubt began as a branch of Ordnance Survey, originally the survey branch of the Board of Ordnance, a supply organisation for the British army. However its main article is actually about geological surveying methods and should be the main article of the subject category. I think the answer is to leave the categories alone and rename the article Geological survey to Geological surveying. Unfortunately, this leaves us with a small category. Is there scope to populate with other geological surveying methods? Peterkingiron (talk) 19:01, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Merge to Category:Geological techniques per previous comment by Fgnievinski. Note that the content of the category completely changed since the start of the discussion. The current content is about techniques. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:30, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Sherlock Holmes in television[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete; contents dispersed among Category:Sherlock Holmes television series and Category:Works based on Sherlock Holmes. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:10, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: More consistent with parent category Category:Works based on Sherlock Holmes. If category is intended to be specifically about works in which Holmes appears, then the recent addition of "Elementary, Dear Data" is inappropriate. Though we may want to consider whether Category:Male characters in television is an appropriate parent category. DonIago (talk) 04:08, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete most of what's here are tv shows and episodes. The one outlier is the Star Trek one, but so many shows are based on something that went before (most people have common referents in Shakespeare, Classical mythology, the Bible, and such) but to say using those to effect is defining is a big stretch. I seem to recall that another Star Trek (TOG) episode referenced Shakespeare; a few referenced Greek mythology; etc. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 01:20, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete... articles should either be in the child, Category:Sherlock Holmes television series, or the parent, Category:Works based on Sherlock Holmes. ~EdGl talk 04:33, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
