Thanks for all your great work on Paperback I see you added a couple of references also. When you add references if you cite them in the text it is is easier to tell what is properly referenced and what is not. A couple of resources for citing are WP:CITE, Wikipedia:Citation templates and User:Jeepday/Sandbox/Cite <(my personal preffered style and templates). If you check out the page I've fixed it (spelling error "preceeded" should be "preceded" - won't "read" that line w/incorrect spelling).

To save yourself some typing in re categories, you can use the following just above when the article name begins with 'The', 'A', etc:

I actually switched browsers to Mozilla Firefox, as it has automatic spell checking, which is a must for me! :)

These works seem to be cross-genre. Involvement of the crime novel task force might help (or for that matter, any outsider); the whole topic area is difficult. I occasionally toy with trying to clean it up, but the lack of English language sourcing is a problem. It really needs committed English-Urdu bilingual editors who'll do more than just dump unreferenced material into the articles. Tearlach 01:14, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

My suspicion, quite frankly, is that this individual is connected to said journal. I started reverting all of his additions after the first one I looked at actually linked only to a page where the journal in question was for sale---that is strictly verboten by Wikipedia's rules on external links. I have to admit, though, that most of the changes the person made were right on target and not of the sort of linkspam I usually see... So, revert if you wish... CLUES is often the *only* substantive resource on many mystery authors. It is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal established in 1980 and published by Heldref Publications, a division of the nonprofit Helen Dwight Reid Educational Foundation. It's common sense. We don't need duplicate articles on the same topic. Alice Tilton and Phoebe Atwood Taylor are the same person. We only need a single biography per person. An article on an author should cover the author's entire career including any names they have written under. The Phoebe Atwood Taylor contains information on the Alice Tilton pen name including why she used it and the books she wrote with it. If there is more information to be added, it should be added to that article. It makes it easier on our readers so they don't have to hunt for information. If you have more questions, let me know. WOW! That is a huge improvement, congratulations! I do have a few critiques:

• The first lead paragraph reads a bit stilted. The second could use a second sentence for balance, although I don't know what it would say.
• The link to http://www.mark-kirk.org/Lentini/page2.html should be <ref>ed.
• The 4 non-<ref> links in the reference section should probably be moved to an "External links" section.
• Get rid of the {{US-crime-bio-stub}}, you've corrected that.
• Consider using the Wikipedia:Citation templates to format your references, and use the name parameter to the <ref> to combine multiple references to the same source.
• If you can find a reference for the claim from Danras's version that fire inspectors took bribes, it would be ok to include it. If the only reference is the claim itself, qualifying the statement with something like "Supporters claim" would be appropriate. If you can't find anything, of course leave it out.

Was Chinese Orange really a locked room or impossible crime? A *weird* crime, yet, with the clothes reversed, but...? Well, I haven't read it in 25 years.

What about "classic puzzles"? "Golden Age puzzles"? Sutherland Scott, who wrote a book about mysteries years ago called all of the elaborate classics of that era, particulary the EQs, "monumental mysteries". Aren't there categories listed on the Mystery page or some such? It's hard to think of a single, short phrase that precisely defines these early EQ.... Hayford Peirce 22:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

This is a tough one. How about "monumentally intricate and sometimes overly contrived Golden Age puzzles that occasionally bordered on the surreal in their complexity"? Sutherland Scott, interestingly, writes that like Van Dyne, "There was a like insistence on psychological overtones; cryptic allusions and deep disturbances were equally in evidence. Both EQ and VD delved deep down in the psyche, coming up for breath every now and then with a dissertation on human motivation, so adroitly presented, it refused to be refuted. And if some of the conclusions belonged more to morbid psychiatry than to psychology, who had right or reason to complain?....In the closing thirties he discarded his highly developed technique, adopting a more modern, individualistic approach which introduced extraneous factors and presented the problem in a somewhat different light." Both your suggestions seem fine to me. "Intricate" is certainly the word for those early 1930s books such as Greek and Egyptian. As for the Sutherland Scott book, I must have bought it 45 years ago at the wonderful old Picwick Bookstore on Hollywood and McCadden. It was not a problem doing those things but thank you for taking the time to tell me about my work. You don't have to worry as I will rearrange the list of directors in the way you suggested. As for a reliable on-line source of information that you can visit to see how much a film made, www.boxofficeindia.com is pretty reliable. That's the site that I usually go to to visit to see box office figures. Another site you could visit is www.ibosnetwork.com. These are the only two sites that I can think off right now. Thanks for the info. I didn't realise that you'd put a comment on this page - I told you I was new to editing this site! I'd very much welcome a scan of the back of your copy, particularly as I've never heard of a mapback edition before. My UK first edition of the book contains no maps and, truth to tell, neither does the Christie companion, just lots of photographs and a map of the overall estate. However, I am in Manchester (my home city) in a couple of weeks time visiting my sister who lives two miles from Abney Hall and I might pop round there and compare your map on the spot if nothing else is available on the web!!

Could you help me with something else? Do you know how to update the table which appears at the bottom of each Christie page. It is out of order with some items missing but I cannot for the life of me find how to update it.

I've found out how to update the tables. Taking Christie as an example, type Template:Agatha Christie in the search field and you are taken to the original of the table. I've sorted out the order of the crime works and will add her other items soon (Road of Dreams, Come, Tell Me How You Live, etc)

I first deleted this article because i said it was untrue. That was a lie. Basically I'm DJ F00P and i think i have grown in popularity enough to have an article on wikipedia. The real reason i wanted it deleted before was because my sister found it and she kept on embarrasing me about it. Also, It took me 1.5 hours to make it. I dont want it to be a waste. But i do think i am popular enough to get a wiki. P.S. It was on the site for a month or 2 before i took it down.

Your article needs REFERENCES. This would be any mention of your record company in, for instance, magazines, television programs, some kinds of web pages (not blogs), saying that the company is important, and giving a reason why it is important. You need to quote these references in the body of the article, like "According to Rolling Stone magazine, Stitch Records is important because ..." You can read the policy at WP:CORP. You'll hate to hear this, but I paid $1.75 for it at a used book store. Its ISBN is 0-8174-8315-2 if you think you can find a copy on eBay, Alibris or the like. It's only for 1947-1996 but I find the period post-'96 is covered on the Internet quite well. If I can offer any assistance from it or "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows, 1946-present" (1979) (ISBN 0-345-28248-5 or 0-345-25525-9) let me know. Hi, just replying to your speedy deletion tag on the myp2p page i am trying to get going. I have invited others to participate in the expansion and improvement of the page. I also find it strange that a 5 minute old page is already a  suitable candidate for deletion?! I believe it has relevance it has relevance to many people, after all soccer is the most popular sport on the planet, and the page relates to how people experience it together over the Internet. I understand you are trying to keep things up to standard, but why not wait to see if any others would like to contribute.

Hi Accounting4Taste, noticed you flagged up the Kavus Torabi article - he is one of the pioneers of Math Rock, a musical style, and is currently in Cardiacs, who are on Wikipedia as they are such a phenomenal cult band (They have appeared on Radio 6 sessions recently. Kavus has been interviewed on the Radio programme Full Circle with Mark Bradby alongside writing partner Dan Chudley). Please refrain from re-adding the Speedy Delete tag to this article. Even though I authored the article, you should not have added it in the first place, as per (CSD A7), which states: "No assertion of importance/significance. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not state why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from questions of notability, verifiability and reliability of sources." The article mentions activity in film and television. That aside, CSD A7 further states: "If controversial, list the article at Articles for deletion instead." Therefore, my removal of the Speedy Delete tag is perfectly acceptable, whereas your restoring it is not. As such, I repeat, please refrain from re-adding the Speedy Delete tag. I have no problem with this particular article being considered "controversial", and I'm happy to list the article at AfD; as you may note from the talk page associated with the . But the speedy delete tag clearly states that you should not remove the tag from an article that you created yourself; you need to use the (((hangon)) process. Therefore, removing the tag from an article that you created yourself is NOT acceptable, I'm sorry to say. But I'm signing off for a while to work -- I;'ll come back to this topic later. Hello, I noticed some of your comments on the discussion page for Gyspy Rose Lee, and I was hoping you'd respond to some of my comments. I think there is some room to doubt the commonly accepted story of Gypsy's involvement in the G-String Murders (that it was completely ghost-written). Thank you. As I mentioned there, the book "February House" digs up some great research (which apparently is right out in the open) to describe the many months Gypsy spent honing her writing skills (exposing herself to the proper influences), typing, creating pages of notes, having chapters revised and proofread and hiring assistants - most of this under the tutelage of her childhood friend, the former Harper's Bazaar literary editor, George Davis. Whatever work Rice may or may not have had done most certainly came after Gypsy had written many of the chapters on her own. One fascinating anecdote she wrote of in a letter was when she submitted a finished chapter to her editor who then asked her what had happened to a vital character. She described the whole process as a learning experience. Hopefully, the article itself can be changed to reflect this. Please read my other comments on the Gypsy discussion page. It is true that FIRST EDITION covers are preferred, but in rare exceptions, that is not always desirable. The title of this work underwent a number of changes (along with rewrites to the text) during the history of its publication. The original title in today's culture is 100% politically incorrect; as is the subsequent retitled TEN LITTLE INDIANS. The article is not listed under the original title, but rather the more neutral AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. The title on the first edition does not agree with the article, which may on first glance both confuse AND anger some readers -- the N word in the original title is ranked among the top 10 most offensive words in the english language. Some people might even mistake the image for vandalism. That book, like the recent flak about TIN TIN IN AFRICA, was the result of a blatant and more open racist society. I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Entegris. I do not think that Entegris fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because NASDAQ listed company with 3000 employees & $600+ million in revenue asserts notability. I request that you consider not re-tagging Entegris for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. I just picked a few refs that I knew would be found - these pages are published by these sources for all publicly traded companies. So I'm done improving it. Hello there! sadly my page Ecopal has been deleted I think. Is it possible to recreate it using your guidelines? I mean the article on the paper? In addition, why would Ecoduro be a more acceptable page? Could you check that and explain to me the difference? I thank you for your help.

I moved your message to my talk page, which is where it should be. I have no way of finding or viewing the Ecopal page... I have no way of finding you, because you didn't sign your message with four tildes. I looked at Ecoduro and I'm not sure why it's "acceptable" -- it doesn't seem to be obviously advertising for the company, and it tries to provide background information about the product. You should try to make your article as neutral as possible; asking yourself, if I didn't know anything about the company's products, what would be necessary to know? What makes them different or special? And, importantly, who says so other than me? I hope you see this, and I hope this helps.
