I don't see how the fact that Hungary was McLaren's first 1-2 finish since 2021 is significant. It has only been 2 1/2 years, most teams have had a much longer gap than that. BMB YT 500000 (talk) 13:07, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • It provides context to the reader that McLaren has not been regularly competitive and that the MCL38 is its most accomplished model in several years. If the article was listing things like the first 1–2 at the circuit since X season, or the first 1–2 in X races, or the first 1–2 in X days, and so on, then an argument would have to be made that this is excessive and unhelpful. But that's not the case; we need to strike a balance between staying on the core topic of the article and with providing an appropriate amount of context and background for the reader.       • It's precisely the fact that it's been 2.5 years that makes it significant: 2.5 years shows that this is not a common result, it's an exceptional one. The MCL60 scored no wins compared to the MCL38's two, nine podiums compared to eleven, zero poles compared to two, and 302 points compared to 338. And that's over the entire 22 race season rather than the thirteen races we've had so far in 2024. Also, seeing as you're a McLaren guy, just butting in here to say that the F1 LM is really a thing of beauty. The orange sorry, Papaya Orange color on the car makes it that much more special to me. Volvo, nice. Really such an underrated car (and truck!) manufacturer--also, can't go wrong with a station wagon, I am sure your XC70 held up well over the years. My childhood church priest actually drove a little 1998 Volvo S70 much like this one lol (same color, too):
Any time I saw a Volvo on the streets, I'd associate it with him. I also DID NOT know they had a racing division, that STCC S40 looks so cool (and the paint on it is... very Volvo)
Also, speaking of station wagons, for whatever reason I've always wanted to buy a nice, low-mileage station-wagon version of my 1996 Toyota Camry. Old Toyotas are ridiculously reliable, and the extra space in the back can certainly come in handy:
