Hello,

just a few words to present myself :

I'm a scientist, found off History, sport & Metal ! I contribute to Wikipedia since 2005 or 2006 with different IPs depending on where i was living and i decided to create a Wikipedia account only in 2014.

Scientist => I'm a Genetic and Genomic researcher, expert in cardiovascular pathologies, infectious pathologies, taxonomy and not too bad in oncology. In my work, I've been led to discover and describe new bacterial species, new human genes and their equivalents in other species. I contributed on an appendix of the International code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes where my name is stated. So at the level of technical and scientific specialties, we find genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, taxonomy, etc. Of course as a researcher, since my PhD and my 20 years of experience, I have published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals and have also written chapters in scientific books, deposited nucleic acid sequences and bacterial strains and type-strains.

Amateur historian, see a little more => I have a small library of more than 2000 books and around 600 history journals mainly on the Revolution-Empire period but which briskly spills over from prehistory to the contemporary period with some favorite phases like Egypt, Greece and ancient Rome, the 19th century, the two World Wars. Among the subjects, biographies, military, naval and air history are among my areas of interest. Oh yes, I published several articles in collaboration with international history teachers in specialized journals.

Sports => I practice or have practiced alpine skiing, football, rugby, squash. I travel regularly by bike (10 to 15km to go with hills) to go to the lab. I am also a former departmental football referee. I was webmaster of football websites on my favorite club and participated in the re-birth of my club's official website. After nearly 10,000 football articles on these sites, I had to stop, no more compatible with my professional activity in the lab because it only left me 2 to 3 hours of sleep per night => not sustainable after 10 years like that ...

The Metal => Arrggghhhhh Long live Metallica! Well, I was a bassist in a small Metal band that didn't last long (it's better for your ears). Faithful to Metal for over 40 years! I'm listening of course also other types of musics. As a former musician (very amateur) I also appreciate classical music, Jazz, groups with very rock sounds and lots of groups like Noir Désir, La Mano Negra (and Manu Chao of course), but my preferences remain anyway from Hard-Rock to Speed ​​Metal (I don't get too attached to death metal style stuff, etc.)

Otherwise, I really like comics (over 1,100 in my collection), horror, Science Fiction or Fantasy cinema.
