English: The German submarine U-505 lies near the escort carrier USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) on 4 June 1944, after U.S. Navy salvage parties stopped her from sinking and rigged a tow line. Guadalcanal is painted in Camouflage Measure 32, Design 4A.
