Deutsch: 11.10.2012 01067 Dresden, Altmarkt: "Haus Altmarkt" (GMP: 51.049853,13.739170). Bis zum II. Weltkrieg stand hier das Im Oktober 1888 eröffnete "Residenz-Cafe", das den Bomben zum Opfer fiel. Eine Wiederbelebung der Kaffeehaustradition erfolgte in den 1950er Jahren mit dem Bau des Restaurantkomplexes "Haus Altmarkt". Mehr als ein halbes Jahrhundert später entstanden die heutigen Wasserspiele auf dem Altmarkt (GMP: 51.049855,13.738658). Die Platzgestaltung einschließlich Wasserbecken geht auf die Arbeit des Hamburger Büros WES & Partner mit dem Landschaftsarchitekten Hinnerk Wehberg zurück. Am 09.07.2009 wurden die Wasserspiele am Altmarkt erstmals in Betrieb genommen (und versiegten nach drei Tagen erst mal wieder). Zusammen sind es fünf neue Wasserbecken. Aus insgesamt 39 Düsen auf und neben den Becken aus chinesischem Granit (weil er dem Sandstein ähnlich sieht) kommt das Wasser. Die Brunnen haben eine speicherprogrammierte Steuerung.
