Hey

Oi, you haven't put your email into your preferences!

Only reason I noticed is that I usually ask this privately, but anyway...fancy a shot at RFA? I would be happy to nominate you. Best, Moreschi (talk) (debate) 22:02, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oi, Moreschi, I've sent you an email so you'll have my address if you ever need it. Thanks for the offer and your confidence. But... admin-ing would take too much time away from what I really enjoy – writing articles, rescuing worthy kittens from being drowned at AfDs, and helping out on the Opera Project. The latter can provide quite enough wiki-drama as it is. ;-). Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:58, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was a delight...

...to read this brilliant piece. And I wasn't even looking for it; I came here to thank you for backing me up on the GA issue on Egardus, since that's something that's been bugging me for a while and had to get off my chest. But your essay was spot-on. Oops, there I go again, pretending to be an adult! Need to get a bouncier, animated signature ... Antandrus (talk) 23:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll make you one if you promise to give me three barnstars. ;-) Seriously, though thanks for the kind review. I wrote that when WP was in the midst of an invasion by a particularly... er... time-consuming... bunch of 13 year olds. At one point there was even a WikiProject (now deleted) that was awarding them barnstars for every 1000 edits, every 50 AfD's "voted on", every 5 (hapless) editors they adopted, etc., etc.. For a while, I and a couple of other editors spent all our time running around cleaning up after them, until they lost interest and/or got blocked. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 07:49, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Much appreciation

Hi, Voceditenore. Thanks for the beautiful rewrite on John Andrew Rea. I would prefer not having to delete noteworthy articles, but the current backlog at copyright violations leaves me little time to revise much text. (Especially in Moonriddengirl's absence.) I just wanted you to know that I very much appreciate your contributions. Cheers. CactusWriter | needles 06:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome ;-) and you were absolutely right to delete it. If you have time, could you do me a favour? I've re-written Juliette Pochin on Talk:Juliette Pochin/Temp. Would it possible to move it into article space. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 07:33, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Another nice job -- and better still was your discussion with the original creator on the talk page. "...Teach a man to fish..." etc. You're a good teacher. Cheers. CactusWriter | needles 16:13, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! In my university teaching days, I once had a student who plagiarsed my own book in her essay. But at least it took some effort, bless her. She typed it out from the hardcopy — must have taken ages. Re "teaching how to fish...", I'm not sure how many new fishermen it produces for Wikipedia. In the Opera Project we get a lot of articles for singers, opera companies, etc. created by their agents and PR people, and sometimes themselves. In my experience, the best I can hope for is that they'll edit their article according to the guidelines in future. I have yet to find one who has ever contributed anything else to Wikipedia. Their only interest in the project is as a PR tool. Having said that, at least it results (after much red-pencilling from other editors) in one new article on a notable subject that we didn't have before. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 10:05, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for teaching me also, about every singer to opera and avoiding answers.com! I keep supplying singers to the project who never sing opera, last Dorothee Mields. When I found a Bach singer who also sang opera I nominated that fact for DYK, Franz Kelch, to be 95 this year, no PR involved. Unfortunately the only source for him I found in English reads like a machine translation. Any help in that case? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:50, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My god, plagiarizing the prof's own book -- that's sadly funny -- the very definition of clueless. I would suggest she switch majors. I know what you mean about bulk of submissions coming from PR types. (It's one of the reasons I refrain from offering copyright violators much opportunity to license the source website -- the promotional text couldn't be used anyway.) But, occasionally, unexpectedly, when the stars align just so... you'll come across a true angler among the crowd of daytrippers. When is that next blue moon anyway? Assistance Please

Hello Voceditenore. Would you please check my user talk page? Some time ago you were assisting me in the creation of a new page, ".Gabriel". As you requested, I posted my request on that page but haven't heard from you. I understand you are very busy but would really appreciate your help. I would question why the BBC are allowed to vandalise the page and put blatant propaganda on there suggesting that the response to the programme was mixed in some way, when in fact it was universally appalling. Every time real and referenced reviews are put up, they are taken down by some BBC apparatchik dickhead. Why are they not censored? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.67.176.103 (talk) 18:06, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This has nothing to do with "real and referenced reviews" being taken down. You deliberately inserted false and in several cases defamatory content about living people in multiple articles related to this show, as well adding as your personal commentary disguised to make it look as if it were a quote referenced from a reliable source, e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4]. You are going to get your IP, aka Oxford University, blocked if you keep it up. Voceditenore (talk) 18:50, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Travesti/Victorian burlesque

Tim just did a nice job expanding the Victorian burlesque article. Does anything need to be added back and forth between this and the Travesti article that you are working on? Just a thought. All the best, -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:28, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think of the current merge proposal at Burlesque (literature)? I wonder if merging it into the poorly-written Burlesque article will destroy any value (or chance at expansion) that it may have. Your comments would be valued at Talk:Burlesque. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:31, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for re-establishing this article. During copy-edit driving I found the previous version a complete copy-and-paste violation from inception; I was the one who tagged for deletion. I have to say your succinct but elegant stub is superb, and should be set as an example of “how to do it”’. I have a tendency to reduce faulty articles to the brusque and barren, so I will log your Keto and Kote as a guiding light. In admiration. Acabashi (talk) 03:24, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Burlesque

Thanks for watching the dead links. It's a big shame that the PeoplePlayUK site went down, as it had a huge amount of info for Victorian articles. I think that most of the content migrated somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Any idea? All the best, -- Ssilvers (talk) 01:03, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the only dead link was PeoplePlayUK. The other 2 were spam/copyvio. Anyhow, the Theatre Museum's contents are now held by the Victoria & Albert. See the V & A's Theatre and Performance collections page. If you search the V & A collections, the online objects generally come with a lot of informative text in addition to the image. See this, for example. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 11:40, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have finished my work on this. The peer review threw up some interesting suggestions, many of which have been absorbed into the article. It is now at FAC (please take a look), and I am working on improving and extending the discography subarticle. I have not done anything with the "adaptations" which were removed from the older version of the article, and it may be a while before I can get to deciding what should be done here. Brianboulton (talk) 18:16, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on getting it to FA, Brian! I'm going to be away for the next 2 weeks and wouldn't be able to help with an "adaptations" page anyway. One of the advantages of page like that is to keep all sorts of minor (and often very trivial) distractions out of the main article. A popular work like this is particularly prone to that kind of stuff, often added "drive-by" without references or context. But let's see how it goes. There may not be a need for an "adaptations", at least in the near future. By the way, can you get the Carmen Filmography link to work? I can't and have tried multiple times. :/ Best, Voceditenore (talk) 15:21, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I will continue improving the discography article as time permits. In due course I'll open a rudimentary "adaptations" article for the purpose you describe; it won't be long before the trivia merchants start tampering with the main article. It went through the FAC process so smoothly and swiftly that I can't help an uneasy feeling that something important got missed. Brianboulton (talk) 15:38, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Smithsonian updates website!

Hi Voceditenore! The Smithsonian Institution Archives took notice of your finding about Clara Hasse's death date and will be updating their records, website and Flickr! The changes should take place tomorrow. So thanks for the great find! Sarah (talk) 14:23, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent. It's nice to see that the traffic between Wikipedia and its sources goes both ways. Last year I got the Encyclopedic Discography of Victor Recordings at UCSB to change a glaring error on their database which found while I was researching Stanislao Gastaldon. In the process, I discovered another and even more whopping error in New Grove Dictionary of Opera which had been propagated all over the internet, but that's Grove's problem. OK, now I'm off to give the Harvard library system a nudge over this. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:32, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tobias

Apologies if this is in the wrong place (finding out how to contribute to Wikipedia is a very steep learning curve and I've only just learnt Joomla, brain hurting!). Huge thanks for the rewriting and reformatting of the article on Dove's Tobias and the Angel. I'd only just discovered it was there and found it was so incomplete and inaccurate it needed some serious input. Having been in the project from the very beginning I felt I had the authority to write on it, and did post some material from my website - hadn't realised this seems to count as conflict of interest. But it certainly doesn't violate copyright which presumably belongs to me, and I'd like to be able to insert a photo of the Birmingham production, would this be allowed? I'd be very grateful if you had time to help me on this. Kate Quartano Brown (talk) 15:56, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I greatly enjoy the "labour of love" that is the Wiki Project Opera and know that, when I look at the "hit counter" (which may be found at http://stats.grok.se/ ) what we all write gets read, especially when it comes to rarely performed operas. That's the reason I expanded the Maometto II last summer for Santa Fe and the Belisario article in Sept/Oct when it was given in concert form at the Barbican. (Even saw two people at the performance who had copies with them!). I shall be doing the same for L'assedio di Calais before I see it at one of English Touring Opera's Spring 2013 presentations. Query

I wanted to thank you for your assistance in creating Mr. Strantz's article I spearheaded awhile back. What great insight when you commented that since Wiki is global state abbreviations were unnecessary. I also wanted to ask.. a facebook page was created using the article as a basis.. is this done automatically and how would I find it's creator? Kindest ccard12Ccard12 (talk) 06:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'd forgotten all about that article. It's looking great now. Just one thing, I thought it better to have an image of Strantz in the infobox instead of the golf course and uploaded one with a fair use rationale. I then moved the golf course image to lower down in the article where it lists the courses he designed. Hope that's OK.
Now about Facebook... Facebook automatically creates pages from Wikipedia articles about people. (They copy the latest version and periodically update the page automatically as the article changes.) Since our license permits anyone to freely re-use the articles here, we have no control over it. I have heard of some living people who have objected to these Facebook copies of their articles, but they had to take it up with Facebook if they wanted them removed, and I'm not sure how successful they've been. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 07:05, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the same thing, but suppose initially what came to mind was a course image. Thank you for that, I am in total agreeance. I think the page is done at this point, so thank you once again. I may create future articles on the courses he designed so perhaps I will call on you once again for your expertise if thats alright. Ccard12 (talk) 16:41, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ewa Podleś

Dear Voceditenore

I don't know how to talk to you, so I try to write something here. If this is not appropriate, I am sorry for this and beg your forgiven.

To specify the vocal range of a contralto is necessary, and what I wrote is true. Everyone can find her A2 to Eb6 in her DVD of Gaetano Donizetti' La Fille du régiment. And there was a record published on the Warsaw Insider noted that Ewa Podleś once showed a musical scale from E6 down to E2 durning rehearsals.

I just want to introduce more information to others. I wish I could get your understanding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.149.170.53 (talk) 07:38, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for getting in touch. The problem with the information you are trying to add is that it needs a published reference to verify it. We don't publish "what we know" (or our personal opinions) on Wikipedia. We publish information that other reliable sources have already written about a subject. The material you have been edit-warring to add has no reliable reference and therefore does not belong in a Wikipedia article. If you want to share this information with others, then I suggest you start a blog instead. You also have to realize that Wikipedia is a collaborative project. Three different editors have explained why your edits are inappropriate and needed to be removed or modified. Instead of discussing it with the rest of us on Talk:Ewa Podleś, you simply re-added the material and and/or blindly reverted the other three editors time and time again, using multiple IPs to continue edit-warring. That is why [citation needed] has been placed in the article next to the material you added. If you do not supply a reliable source for the "information", it will be removed by other editors. I suggest you now go to Talk:Ewa Podleś and discuss the issue with them there. Voceditenore (talk) 17:11, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I'm an "opera gal", but never mind. I'll have a look at these tomorrow. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 16:54, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked the opera ones, e.g. {{Rigoletto}} to make sure that the various adaptations, related, etc. really were. I checked the source work ones, e.g. {{Alice}} to make sure that any operas listed had indeed used it as the source for the libretto, but I didn't check the non-opera listings. No doubt someone associated with articles in those areas will eventually discover any discrepancies/errors. I did notice that for these templates in general, there isn't a lot of consistency re the group headings, the way the links are piped, and their formatting. The only one I fixed was Rigoletto where you had "La donna è mobile" listed under "Works", but in {{Carmen}} and at least one other, you list individual arias under "Music", so I relabelled that group. Note also that arias should go in " ", not italics. I also fixed that for Rigoletto, but you might want to go through the other templates for operas that you've created and check that arias are properly presented, and any other inconsistencies in the group labels, e.g. the discographies are sometimes listed under "Related" and sometimes under "Music". Best, Voceditenore (talk) 11:58, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You mentioned {{Carmen}}. Did you take a look at that one too? What about my other Opera templates {{The Magic Flute}}, {{Madama Butterfly}}, {{The Tales of Hoffmann}}, {{Tommy}}? Oh wait, you are only checking for operas. Off the top of my head, the ones with many operas that I have created are {{Ivanhoe}} and {{Cinderella}}.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:16, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'd already checked Carmen and Madama Butterfly a while back and removed several errors. I'll take a look at some of the others when I get a chance. However, the important thing is to actually read the articles very carefully and make sure that it would be accurate to list them in a particular template rather than simply going by their title or vague plot similarities. Voceditenore (talk) 09:39, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I meant to move it to "Related", not delete it from template completely. I've re-added it to the template under "Related" and re-added the template to the article. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 09:15, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Important/Popular operas

I'd like to create a lot more useful templates. Is there a list of the most important operas, longest-running opera productions, most widely-produced operas?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:35, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions...
  • This page lists the top 50 operas in terms of number of performances (as of 2012)
  • Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera/Popular pages lists the top 500 pages bannered by WikiProject opera in terms of number of page views.
  • List of important operas is probably less help, as it's very lengthy and contains many operas which are important in terms of music scholarship, but not necessarily "important" to the general public or even still performed. It was compiled by consulting nine lists of great operas, created by recognized authorities in the field, and selecting all of the operas which appeared on at least five of these lists.

date and date

"What else is an infobox but a table that consolidates information covered in the main text?" You asked, I tried to explain just below your post, - a bit tired of repeating that a date can be just a string or (better) have day/month/year as separate entities to work on, calculate, format in different languages, called "granular", --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:08, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gerda, I had read your explanation which was there long before I made my comment. There is absolutely nothing about the granularity of the date that changes the fact that the infobox is still a table covering material already in the article. In my view, a well-written lede will contain the person's age at death, and I always include it. How old a living person is on any particular day is utterly trivial information, in my view and can be roughly deduced by anyone who cares about it from a quick perusal of the DoB. More importantly, the discussion there is about whether collapsed infoboxes are acceptable. The "granular" information is still there, whether they are collapsed or not, hence that is not a pertinent argument for that discussion. More importantly, infoboxes are not required on Wikipedia, collapsed or otherwise. Nor are they required by our guidelines on accessibility. Nor is collapsing them in whole or in part "forbidden" by our guidelines on accessibility. Nor are they required for providing either Wikidata or metadata. Nor does collapsing them affect the transmission of Wikidata or metadata for articles which already have an infobox. I think quite a few people at the discussion are getting tired of having to repeat that as well. :-) Voceditenore (talk) 12:48, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I don't think you read what I wanted to be understood - my language problem? -, because the difference is that (at least now) we don't have the granular information elsewhere than in an infobox, - I could imagine to have in a future a function with an invisible keyword in the text. - The age is trivial, of course, but an example that you can calculate/compare/sort, if you have a date granular. You can take it to other languages with different formatting. Why not make it available? - Yes I know the discussion started to be about collapsible, but it did not stay in that focus ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:08, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, I understood what you said perfectly. The point is, that collapsing an infobox does not affect the availability or transportability of that information. In my view, the MoS discussion should stay on its original focus, collapsed infoboxes. Bringing in arguments as to why every article should have an infobox is no more helpful to that discussion than are arguments as to why articles should not have infoboxes at all. I have been very careful there to make sure my comments are strictly related to the actual topic of the discussion. Voceditenore (talk) 13:25, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Understand. I was perhaps tempted to much to contradict those who deviated, especially when it questioned peoply, Moxy, for example. 90% personal stories dating back to 2008 - how can I complain about being tired ;) - reminds me to put "ban complaining" back on my user page as motto of the year, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:18, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Checking in on the Teacher Quality Assessment page

Hi voceditenore, It looks like the rfc on the Teacher Quality Assessment page has left it stuck in limbo. I'm fine with your edits, can we get the page moved? Thanks, Douglarkin (talk) 20:06, 25 March 2013 (UTC)douglarkin[reply]

Replied at your talk page [6]. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:07, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

L'arpa?

L'Arpa festante is the name of the article, our conductor says it's L'arpa festante, sources differ, what would you say? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:26, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I moved it to L'arpa festante per the capitalisation used on their recordings and by Carus-Verlag, their publisher. I also cleaned up the rather strange English and added a bit. I'll see if I can do a brief bio of Giovanni Battista Maccioni who wrote L'arpa festante, after which the ensemble was named. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 06:49, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, very helpful! - One recording (Telemann, mentioned on Berthold Possemeyer) has all all caps, that made me question. They will go lc on our poster of the Mass in B minor, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:04, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
For Easter I found the opera, thank you for that great article, also for the inventive samples on {{Infobox opera}}! May I use them on 1 April? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:46, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't make that example. Andy Mabbett did. I just corrected his Italian. Umm... where do you intend to use it for April 1st? Voceditenore (talk) 14:57, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It looked so operatic, I didn't check the history. Andy has more talents than I knew so far. - I thought of the top of the project talk, Did you know ... that John Smith's Il diavolo di Wikipedia (The Demon Editor of Wikipedia) premiered on 18 March 2013? - but I will find something real ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:13, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How about...
Did you know that L'infobox infernale (The Hellish Infobox), an opera semiseria in 25 acts, is the longest running opera ever staged on Wikipedia?
Best, Voceditenore (talk) 15:28, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. I don't like the link to a picture, isn't that misleading? Instead, you could link to one of the highly operatic discussions (recent: Bach, Sparrow Mass, but an old one would be preferable, to substantiate the claim) ;) - You can do it, my experience is too limited, I added my first infobox only last year, - we sang the Sparrow Mass today,- happy Easter! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:40, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I wasn't serious about using it as a DYK, but I thought the whole point of April Fool jokes was to be misleading. Anyhow, the "opera semiseria" has been performed on Wikipedia since at least 2005, but probably longer. And, no, linking to a current discussion is not a good idea. Happy Easter to you too! Voceditenore (talk) 16:35, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was also not serious, not even semi ;) - Seriously, if those who like infoboxes could add them to "their" articles and those who don't leave "theirs" without, a lot more energy could be devoted to actually writing articles. Instead, look at the poor Sparrow, 3RR, block, article protected, poor main editor can't improve it, - better no comment, and keep singing. - 1 April: I like tomorrow's featured article! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:47, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, but that would lead to an immediate rendition of the opera's most famous chorus, "Nessuno è padrone delle voci!". Voceditenore (talk) 17:17, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't like OWN, am open for improvements, just thanked Andy for an infobox for a new one I had no time for yet, but don't consider to be reverted with no reason given (s. Sparrow) as an improvement, - I don't have a good line for that lamento ready, you will ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:27, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The lament would be " L'infobox mi fu rapito, Ahime!" - Voceditenore (talk) 17:48, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

quanto dolore ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:08, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think of this image, which also covers an opera singer without photo? Adam Cuerden (talk) 21:47, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK, but I'd never use it for Lillian Grenville. The one of her alone will be much better for that article. It's also a much more arresting image than this rather stilted duo. But this one would be good for Gustave Huberdeau and Natoma (kills 2 birds with one stone for that article). Voceditenore (talk) 17:57, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here are some more possibilities for articles and future articles with no images:

The Bain collection is very badly annotated, I'm just plowing slowly through all the images and clicking on ones that likely to be opera singers. I may find some more...

Best, Voceditenore (talk) 18:11, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Any idea which Stephano the Jacoby is? Niklausse is almost certainly Tales of Hoffmann, but I'm not sure off-hand about a Stephano trousers role. Adam Cuerden (talk) 19:10, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I assume Roméo et Juliette she sang it many times at the Met at around the time that picture was taken [7], and her career was almost entirely at the Met. Voceditenore (talk) 19:20, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thought that would've been too high for her, since Wikipedia labels it as a soprano part. If she sang it, though, it's probably that. Adam Cuerden (talk) 19:58, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Met lists her as a mezzo-soprano (rather than contralto), and the role is frequently sung and recorded by mezzos, e.g. Kristine Jepson, Susan Graham, etc. Voceditenore (talk) 10:18, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Category: José Cura

Helo Voceditenore.

You recently removed my categorizing José Cura as a Spanish singer. You may wish to know that he is of Argentinean AND Spanish descent, and holds both nationalities. You may want to check the reference attached to the nationality section in his infobox, where he is referred in an article published by the Efe agency and the Eldiario.es periodical as "hispanoargentino" (Spanish/Argentinean).

I understand you're only trying to make sure the information isn't incorrect, and I appreciate this. But it is a fact that he is, indeed, Spanish as well.

Thank you.

Fair enough, although there should be no biographical information in the infobox that is not in the article. Likewise, the citation belongs in the article, not in the infobox. Voceditenore (talk) 11:08, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I see so there should be an entry in the main article saying José Cura is an Argentine-Spanish singer, and the reference should be there, not in the infobox.

Gotcha. Thanks! I'll get to fixing this pronto.

Carmen infobox

I have left some comments and suggestions here. I hope you'll have time to look at these before your trip, which I hope will be as exciting as it sounds. Safe journey. Brianboulton (talk) 22:24, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Brian. They were very helpful. I've responded to your comments, mostly just to clarify a couple of things. All the best, Voceditenore (talk) 18:06, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lifting the Gibraltar DYK restrictions

A couple of months ago, you opposed a proposal to lift the restrictions on Gibraltar-related DYKs, which were imposed in September 2012. Could you possibly clarify (1) under what conditions you would support a lifting of the restrictions, and (2) when you think it would be appropriate to lift the restrictions? Prioryman (talk) 20:19, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply, I've been away for two weeks. Lifting all the restrictions currently in place should not happen for at least 12 months after they were first imposed, and possibly 24 months considering how seriously the Gibraltarpedia DYK drive impacted on Wikipedia's reputation. The current restrictions to one article per day are not onerous. That's still potentially 30 articles per month. The two reviewer requirement with emphasis on checking for COI or promotionalism is also prudent. Voceditenore (talk) 16:58, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Baganwala jind

Baganwala jind
Hi.. i want to tell you that article Baganwala Jind- its having different distt the existing article in Bhiwani and and i am looking for approval its located in distt Jind . if not clear kindly refer the google map for the same 18jitu (talk) 09:47, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but I'm unclear what exactly you are asking about. Your draft at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Baganwala, Jind was declined by another editor because it had no references. All articles on Wikipedia must have at least one published source to verify the contents of the article. Your draft still has no sources and will not be accepted. Are you saying that the village in your draft is the same one as Baganwala, but that the article has wrongly listed the district as Bhiwani instead of Jind? Or are you saying that there are two different villages with the same name in Haryana State, one in Jind district and one in Bhiwani district? In either case, I suggest you ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 16:24, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, if they're two different villages, then they should be separate articles and I'll fix my comment at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Baganwala, Jind. But the article that you have pending there will never be approved until you add references to reliable published sources. WP:VERIFY has guidance on this. If you need help finding sources, I suggest you enquire at [[Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics]. Someone there may be able to help you. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 16:42, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

sir if i suggest you google map for lactation and when u find this you will also see some more details .if its not not complete info please suggest me the right way.looking for your reply ..!!

Sir, i add the reference for the same, i add link and you can see after the visit the name of the village. If you satisfy with this reference kindly approve the same and if you are not and please update me.......looking for your reply..thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 18jitu (talk • contribs) 05:07, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Grove Music

Howdy, Voceditenore. :) Do you happen to have access to Grove Music Online? This being an area of interest to you, I'm hopeful. We've got an article flagged as a copyvio (Şerban Nichifor) that is strongly contested, and I can't see it. (I mean that literally - this is not a veiled "I don't find copying" comment. :D) Likewise, Liana Alexandra. (See Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2013 January 30) If you are able to compare the content, that would be fabulous; if not, I'll be off on a quest to find somebody uninvolved who can review that material. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:57, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temp pages deleted. I see that the day has been closed out (didn't notice when I worked on CP this morning). Woohoo! January is almost history. :D (And I felt like sharing some pretty flowers. :D I could have just put them here, but Wikilove makes it easier for me to format than just dropping images on pages.) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:47, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
