The article Askia Booker has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. College basketball templates

Can you hold off creating any more college basketball templates? A couple of your recent creations (like {{Conference USA Men's Basketball First Team}}) are really against the general consensus of what should have a template and what shouldn't. WP:CBASKETBALL gets a bad rap for using too many templates and templates like this one and {{CBE Classic MVP navbox}} are really not consistent with where we have generally drawn the line. I'll start a discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject College Basketball and will invite you to be a part of it, but please don't create any more until we have had the discussion. Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 22:18, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Love the school colors. Thanks for making that happen. If you are ok, I will PROD these 2 templates (if I can). Rikster2 (talk) 22:43, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2013-14 Bærum Basket season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Has remained practically content-free for a few days now

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bærum Basket

I have cut it from the Template:Euroleague color and also Module:Basketball color/data as it is not part of the Euroleague. Also similar case with Aris Leeuwarden basketball team, which is actually not deleted from templates, but translated to Dutch teams subclass. I suggest you to create Norvegian league subclass in Module:Basketball color/data and there put Bærum Basket and any other team from the league if you would like. Hope you understand, goodbye! A tag has been placed on Ingus Jakovics, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page, or a redirect loop.

If you can fix this redirect to point to an existing Wikipedia page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you also fix the redirect. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. (talk) 10:50, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Geometry Dash

Hello Temple of the Mousy,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Geometry Dash for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

Thanks for the great (and continuing) work on the Ronald Moore (basketball) article. It was a sorely needed one since he was the NCAA assists leader. He was on my queue but very far down the list, and it made me happy to see someone make a legitimately good article on him rather than a drive-by stub-creation. Hey Temple, I'm not sure what your inclinations are for article creation, but if you have no particular players you're dying to make, what would you say about helping WikiProject College Basketball knock out more of the NCAA season statistical leaders? The articles can be found on {{NCAA Division I men's basketball statistical leaders}}, and anyone with a red link is notable, they just need creation. Thoughts? :) Jrcla2 (talk) 13:13, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rahat Hossain requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The "team_link" field in the basketball biography infobox

You don't need to add this anymore. The template has been modified so that the title team no longer links (since this was duplicative to what appears in the team history), so this parameter doesn't do anything anymore. For college players adding (for example) "Syracuse Orange" to the team field is sufficient to drive the team colors. Rikster2 (talk) 13:23, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please populate categories for these articles when creating them? It is causes more work on the back end to follow your article creations to clean them up. Thank you. Jrcla2 (talk) 16:12, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw this. Yes, I will do so in the future. TempleM (talk) 23:08, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I thought you were going to add categories when creating articles? Jrcla2 (talk) 01:38, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Windsor Express

I've noticed that you reverted my edit on the colors of Windsor Express 2015 champions template. As far as I can see in the team's website the team wears marron and black jerseys, not black and white. Can you tell me why you reverted these edits? Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 14:29, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your edits because black and white has been used for Windsor Express navboxes on Wikipedia. If you want to change it to maroon, which I am fine with, please change the team's other navboxes as well. Also, make the text white instead of black to make it easier to read. Hi TempleM, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 01:30, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tyrone Garland

Why did you create a sandbox article on Tyrone Garland when you could have just expanded the main page on him? ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 23:31, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I did so because I felt like the article would be a bit lopsided if I had expanded only one section. Anyways, I have expanded the article with what was in my sandbox. TempleM (talk) 00:24, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The article looks pretty good on first glance. I'm not sure if I could be considered uninvolved on the article, since I made some edits to it and added his date of birth. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 01:18, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed

Hi Temple. I'd like to make team colors to appear in players' infoboxes. For example in Dimitris Despos' article, I'd like the infobox to be blue and white as his current team's colors are. Could you tell me how to do this? Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 12:58, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Hansi667: You can change the team color for the infobox at Module:Basketball color/data. Copy-and-paste the code of a certain team into the "Greek League" category and change the colors accordingly. First/third hex code is for background and second/fourth for text color. TempleM (talk) 16:58, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Recommendation for creating articles

I just chimed in at the Jabs Newby AfD discussion (but have not yet voted, I need to research notability). My advice to you when creating an article is to include at least two different sources taken from reliable, independent agencies/publications. You are creating many articles only with sources from teams/colleges/leagues that a player has competed in. These are fine for verifying facts, but do not demonstrate notability. I'd recommend using 2 sources from different newspapers/established sports news sites/etc. Rikster2 (talk) 13:21, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

EuroBasket

Hi. Thanks for your compliment. No, sorry, I do not have access to the Eurobasket subscription site. Do you think there are gaps in the playing history of NBL Canada players? ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 21:53, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Editorofthewiki: Most NBL Canada players don't have gaps in their playing histories, although some of them occasionally don't play professional basketball for other reasons. Anthony Anderson didn't play because of family problems and Papa Oppong didn't play because he wanted to become a schoolteacher. I am not sure about many NBL Canada players, but some sources state that they have played in many different countries not mentioned on their Wikipedia articles. TempleM (talk) 22:15, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well in that case the sources should be investigated to see exactly what teams they played for. Im generally pretty good at research so if you could give me some names and countries in which they played, I may be able to fill out the infoboxes. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 23:01, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Editorofthewiki: I have already filled out the career history for Kenny Jones, but I think some of the information is flawed, so you should either do some research or consult someone with Eurobasket access. Jones has played in Chile, Mexico, and Argentina, as stated in the article. The Cavell Johnson, Antwi Atuahene, Kirk Williams, Trayvon Lathan, and Cliff Clinkscales articles may also be inaccurate, but I don't know exactly which countries they played in. You can also consult a user with Eurobasket access for verification. TempleM (talk) 23:28, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User:ArmstrongJulian may have Eurobasket access, if you want to contact him. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 23:08, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thank you for the information. I know for a fact that User:DaHuzyBru has access, because he helped me out before. TempleM (talk) 23:09, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have access sorry, can only count on good old research. If you're looking for someone who was in Italy I can usually track down information. Other countries are more hit and miss (Turkey's quite hard). --ArmstrongJulian (talk) 13:52, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As you saw I had a go at Kenny Jones (by the way, some Latin American countries like Argentina and Puerto Rico sometimes refer to players by their names like using Kenneth here, don't know why but it can useful trying the variations when searching). I doubt I'll have the time to do any other player's though. I didn't really go into detail on his NBL career for time purposes and because you know more about the league to do a better job. Didn't really search for much on his college career either. The State-Journal ref mentions that at least one of his sisters also played for Kentucky and another article on NoalesInternational.com (something like "US players in Mexico") said he had young children in Kentucky, I couldn't really be bothered doing a personal section but if you feel like it there's a lead. --ArmstrongJulian (talk) 22:07, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@ArmstrongJulian: Thank you for the work you put into expanding that article. I couldn't have done it myself, even with Eurobasket. He was an important player in the NBL Canada this season but I could not find too many sources about him. I know you mentioned it above, but if you ever do have time to expand more articles, I would check Quinnel Brown, Devin Sweetney, or Brandon Robinson. NBL Canada questions

Hello. I would refrain from calling the Rainmen defunct until more information is released. By that same token, I wouldn't think you should create a new article on a team if it hasnt even been announced where it will move to. I don't think we need an article on a team's season if it only played one year, rather it should be merged with the team article. Cheers! ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 19:08, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
