Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did with this edit to Godley. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Hello there; it is not spam it is correct information from SoFeminine.co.uk a UK based website which shows you how many people over 1,500 bearers, share your surname. It is correct information please, do NOT remove it. Thank you for your understanding. :-)

• It's not a reliable website though - for example, this says there are 3,255 people in Britain with the name - then says there are 1,715 in Cheshire and 1,697 in Leicester - which is 3,412 to begin with ... clearly wrong. Also your actual links merely went to the website's front page (not anything about genealogy), giving the impression that you were spamming the website. • Yes, I want to provide information about distribution of various surnames in Britain, so for example there are 1,739 Buxtons in West Yorkshire, and there are 1,821 Lomaxes in Lancashire. This is reliable information I am providing.
