== An offer of help ==

Hi there, thanks for your email this morning. I usually find it best to correspond via talk pages, so [please respond here by clicking the 'edit this page' tab at the top and placing your response under mine. That way everyone can see our conversation (and join in if necessary).

I have a suggestion and an offer to make: as you've discovered, writing an article is a lot more complicated than pasting in a large block of text! What I'd suggest is that we set up a test page in your own userspace, say at a page like [[User:Rajankila/drafts]]. You then paste in one of your articles and we work on it together to try and get it into a presentable format for the mainspace. Drafting it in your user space means it doesn't appear on the list of new pages or recent changes, so it won't get challenged for deletion - although other editors can see it if they know it's there.

I suggest trying just one article, ideally either the shortest, or the one with the fullest range of references (or just the one that interests you most). But it needs to be one with verifiable (and verified) facts, not opinions or theoretical material. Please reply below if you'd like to do this.

I have no doubt whatsoever that you're a sincere editor with a desire to edit constructively: vandals are very obvious by their editing behaviour and I can see you're not one. I realise it's disheartening to have your first contributions deleted, but I'd be very happy to help produce some articles which will stay - not least because I'm concerned about [[WP:BIAS|systemic bias]] against articles on subjects away from the English speaking world. Great article!

Great article back there! All it needed was some section headers. Speaking of which, here's how to make them. The first thing you need to know is that there are three levels of header, each determined by how many "=" marks you put on each side of the header. Putting =text= would make the largest header, resulting in

text

That's the type you usually see at the top of pages. To make a level 2: ==text==

which results in

text

Now, the last one, the Level 3 header. This is the header you put up when you want to create a subsection. The syntax for this is ===text===

making

text

See? It's as easy as putting down some "=" signs. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 12:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New pages

Hello there, I see you've created four pages very quickly, with lots of content and some overlapping themes. There's a danger that these overlap so much, that one or more of them might need to be deleted or merged with the others. Can I suggest that, rather than adding lots of new pages - especially with no wikification, like this one, you work on one article to add links, catehories, images etc? There are some really helpful suggestions about drafting, improving and perfecting articles at the blue links shown. Making one article better like this will teach you much more about Wikipedia than simply pasting in text that you have prepared for other reasons. Good luck, Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 13:25, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accountability mechanisms in local governments in Kerala

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Accountability mechanisms in local governments in Kerala, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Accountability mechanisms in local governments in Kerala. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Kerala: A Fertile Land for Decentralisation, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Kerala: A Fertile Land for Decentralisation is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Kerala: A Fertile Land for Decentralisation, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 15:01, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Decentralisation and Local Governance in Kerala requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, the recent edit you made to Decentralization has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. AfD nomination of Types of decentralisation

Hello there, I'm sorry to nominate yet another of your articles but you need to have a look at Decentralization and perhaps include this material there. When an article on a topic exists already, it is not helpful to add a new article which lagrely overlaps. I see from your contributions that you are making lots of article edits, particularly new articles, and almost no talk page edits. Talk pages are where editors discuss what they are doing and why, and resolve differences about articles and edits. I strongly suggest that you stop creating new articles, which appear to be from your own research or studies. Try editing some existing articles instead. There are some really helpful suggestions about drafting, improving and perfecting articles at the blue links shown. Response to email

Hello there, you sent me this email earlier today:

1 I am not a researcher, a librarian, in Kerala Institute of Local Administration. So remember that none of my write-ups are results of original research. But secondary literature, that can fit into a text book or reference book.As a librarian, my job is to gather, maintain and provide information.
2 I am a fan of Wikipedia and I wanted to create a Wikipedia for Decentralisation in India which is being decided by Ministry of Panhcayati Raj. As a much navigated site I wanted to have some pages here in Wikipedia too.

3 Meanwhile as suggested by Frederick N, a journalist of Goa, I started creating pages, probably with ignorance of editing properly.

4 I donot sign because I donot know how to sign and what to write. That is all

5 I write this mail when I got a link which I may not be able to retrieve later

6 So my need is to have a corner - a portal -for decentralisation and local governance in India /Kerala. Please help me for it
7 I am known in India as a promoter of Decentralisation particularly in the Decentralisation Community of UN Solution Exchange - an email group of 1400 persons and was the best participant in the group last year.
7 If you propose the deletion of the article Types of decentralisation, I think it is worth retaining.

8 I learn that the article must be shorter than my articles whereas m y articles are long. But they contain only points gathered from official reports such as Economic Review of Kerala government, Kerala Panchayat Raj Act and similar publication.

I want to tell you again that I am a positive person and not a manipulator

Regards,

K Rajsekharan
