NCAA Football 09 is a college football video game created by EA Sports, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts. The game was announced on February 14, Template:Vgy and is scheduled to be released on July 15, Template:Vgy.[1][2]
Promotions
In order to promote its new Wii version of NCAA Football, EA held a competition on February 14, 2008 and until March 14, 2008 for fans to vote on their favorite NCAA Division I FBS college team mascot.[1][2] The winner of the competition, Michigan State's Sparty, is featured on the cover art for the Wii.[3] Arkansas's running back Darren McFadden is the cover athlete for the Xbox 360[4], Boston College's quarterback Matt Ryan is the cover athlete for the PS3[5], California's wide receiver DeSean Jackson is the cover athlete for the PS2[6] and West Virginia's fullback Owen Schmitt is the cover athlete for the PSP.
New Features
- NCAA Football 09 will unveil the all-new Break Away Animation Engine which allows gamers to break in and out of moves giving the user more direct control as well as instant influence and responsiveness on the field.[1]
- Offensive lines will also create bigger holes and create cutback lanes for running backs to utilize.
- A new feature being brought back is crowd playing a factor in the game, stadiums will be louder and much more dynamic; allowing user customizable music and reactions to specific actions (breakaways and such).
- The field and sidelines will be more realistic than previous games like having much more backup players on the sidelines, cheerleaders, and field degrading during the game. Mascots will also be user influenced after a touchdown.
- New college player models, including more than 50 alternate uniforms
- New online features are also being implemented; including online dynasties and file sharing.

- Offline cooperative play with up to four players
