Katarzyna Moś, popularly known as Kasia Moś (born 3 March 1987, Ruda Śląska, Poland) is a Polish singer, most known for being a finalist in the Polish program Must Be the Music.

Childhood and education

Moś is the daughter of Mark Moś, a part of the musical group Aukso. She graduated from the Frederic Chopin music school in Bytom, learning the cello and piano, as well as a graduate of the Faculty of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the Karol Szymanowski vocal Academy of Music in Katowice.

Music career

At fifteen, Moś began to attend vocal classes by Elżbiety Chlebek, her first steps towards a professional singing career. At the beginning of her musical career, Moś worked with such ensembles as, among others, Stetsons and Big Band Lotharsi, as well as with the group The Fire, which comprised teachers and students of the Faculty of Jazz Academy of Music in Katowice.

In 2002, she recorded their first demo, which was written by, among others, Robert Janson, the founder of Varius Manx. In 2005, she released I Wanna Know, with which she performed for the national for Poland for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. She earned tenth in the final on 28 January 2006. From 2008 to 2009, she played the character of Judas in the play Pasja wg św. Marka by Paweł Mykietyn played at, among others, during the Wratislavia Cantans, the Polish Music Festival in Kraków and Warsaw Autumn.

In 2011, Moś left for Las Vegas, USA, where she met American producer Robin Antin, founder of girl band The Pussycat Dolls. After returning to Poland, they recorded several demo songs. She once again went to the United States, where she performed at, among other places, the Viper Room. During the half-year contract, she collaborated with singers such as Kelly Osbourne, Mýa and Carmen Electra, as well as being invited by actress Eva Longoria to sing at a charity auction sponsored by her foundation.

In 2012, she took part in the audition for the third edition of Must Be the Music. During the qualifying round, she sang the song ''(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman'' by Aretha Franklin and qualified to the semi-finals. In April, she appeared in the first semifinal and sang her version of Czerwony jak cegła by Dżem and advanced to the finals, which eventually took third place. During her participation in the program, she recorded the song Uwierz, which was on her debut album, Na ostatnim piętrze nieba. The song was created for the purpose of protesting against the abuse of dogs. In September, she played the role of Cordelia in the world premiere of the musical Król Lear by Paweł Mykietyn.

In 2014, she was a part of the advertising campaigns for the Link4 insurance company. In October 2015, she released her debut studio album Inspination. Another single in the album was Addiction, which she took part with in Krajowe Eliminacje 2016, the Polish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. At the final on 5 March 2016, the song received 3.39% of the vote, coming in sixth overall. In the same year, she appeared on the cover of the October Polish issue of Playboy.

In February 2017, she released Flashlight, which will be a part of their second studio album, which will participate in the 2017 edition of Krajowe Eliminacje for Eurovision 2017.. In an OGAE, she said the song is dedicated to all who are persecuted. She added in an interview: "For me it was mainly about all the poor animals. But it can also go for refugees and anyone who does not feel safe and has to flee from the place where they left their family, their home, and their life... "
