The Mill on the Floss is a 1936 British drama film directed by Tim Whelan and starring Frank Lawton, Victoria Hopper, Geraldine Fitzgerald and James Mason. It was based on the 1860 novel The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot.[1]

The film was made at Shepperton Studios. Although he is not credited in the film, Basil Dean, who was married to the leading lady Victoria Hopper, was heavily involved in the planning and the production of the film.[2]

  1. Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns. These species may also be terrestrial and grow in humus or in the crevices of the rocks.
