Prosiek (Hungarian: Prószék) is a village and municipality in Liptovský Mikuláš District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1280. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Liptó County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1945, it was part of the Slovak Republic.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 600 metres and covers an area of 12.674 km². It has a population of about 192 people.

  1. Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns. These species may also be terrestrial and grow in humus or in the crevices of the rocks.
