Jain University, officially JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), is a private deemed university in Bengaluru, India. Originating from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, it was conferred the deemed-to-be-university status in 2009. In August 2019 Jain University opened its off campus in Kochi, Kerala.

History[edit]

Jain University originates from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC), established by the founder and chairman of JGI GROUP, Chenraj Roychand[2] in 1990.[3] It was conferred deemed to be university status in 2009.[4]

Jain University offers more than 200 UG and PG programs in commerce, sciences, humanities and arts, engineering and technology and management.[5] It also offers courses for working professionals in the field of Business Administration, Engineering and Information technology.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked the institution 68th among universities[7] 86th among business schools.[10] and in the 101-150 band for both overall[6] and engineering[9] in 2023. It also ranked it 117 among engineering colleges Outlook India ranked it 68 among universities in 2020.[8]

Hostel accommodation[edit]

Jain (Deemed-to-be University) offers both on-campus (JGI Global Campus) and off-campus accommodations in different locations in Bangalore. For most of their hostel accommodation they have a contact with a company called Mojo Campus. The residential arrangements are separate for the sexes. Jain (Deemed-to-be University) accommodations are managed by the Hostel Management Division.[11]

  1. Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns. These species may also be terrestrial and grow in humus or in the crevices of the rocks.
