Directorate of Registration (Bengali: নিবন্ধন অধিদপ্তর) is a Bangladesh government directorate under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs,[1] which responsible for registration of property and collecting registration tax. It is also responsible for registration of marriage in Bangladesh.[2][3]

History

Directorate of Registration was established in 1973 by the Government of Bangladesh as the Registration Department.[4] In January 2018, the Registration Department was upgraded to Directorate of Registration following the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.[5] Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Anisul Huq, on 23 March 2019 criticized corruption within the directorate.[6]

  1. Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns. These species may also be terrestrial and grow in humus or in the crevices of the rocks.
