Comet is an unincorporated community in Washington Township, Jackson County, Ohio, United States. It is located at 39°06′57″N 82°33′04″W / 39.11583°N 82.55111°W / 39.11583; -82.55111, on the western edge of Wellston.[2][3]

Comet was originally founded along the Ohio Southern Railroad as a company town for the Comet Coal Company, operating the Comet mine nearby. As of 1895, there were 60 miners and 24 day-laborers employed at the mine.[4]

  1. Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns. These species may also be terrestrial and grow in humus or in the crevices of the rocks.
