Battowia or Bettowia is one of the Grenadine islands which lie between the Caribbean islands of Saint Vincent and Grenada.[2] [3] Politically, it is part of the nation of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Flora and Fauna
[edit]Battowia island is locally known as "Bird island" as it is a roosting and nesting site for a variety of seabirds, in particular larger birds such as frigatebirds, gulls and boobies and also brown pelican, brown noddy, sooty tern. As well as land birds such as the tropical mockingbird, eared dove, and the Antillean crested hummingbird.[4]
Among other inhabitants of the island are goats and rare Congo snake (Amphiuma) and Barbour's tropical racer (Mastigodryas bruesi).[5]
Battowia Island has been declared a Wildlife Reserve.[6]

Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns. These species may also be terrestrial and grow in humus or in the crevices of the rocks.
