Pondicherry Premier League is a Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in union territories of Pondicherry in India.[1] organised by Cricket Association of Pondicherry (CAP) and sanctioned by Board of Control for Cricket in India.[2] and first contested during the 2024 season.[3]
The league is contested by six teams representing different zones in union territories of Pondicherry.[4][5]
History
[edit]In August 2024, the Pondicherry Premier League was launched. The league was aimed to make up for the absence of high-profile matches in Pondicherry every year and to expose talented players from districts.[citation needed]
The Pondicherry Premier League 2024 is a Domestic T20 tournament organized by the Cricket Association of Pondicherry (CAP).[citation needed]
The Tournament is scheduled to start on Monday, August 5, and will conclude on Friday, August 23. It will be the first edition of the tournament.[citation needed]
A total of 34 matches are scheduled to take place in this edition of the tournament at the Siechem Stadium in Pondicherry.[citation needed]
Six teams will participate: Town Giants, Yanam Royals, Ossudu Accord Warriors, Mahe Megalo Strikers, Villianur Mohot Kings and Karaikal Kniights.[citation needed]
Tournament structure
[edit]Six city-based teams will compete during the school summer holidays.There will be thirty matches in the league stage of the tournament, with the top four teams qualifying for the semi-final stage. The winners of both the semi-final matches will be the finalists.[citation needed]

Well, that’s interesting to know that Psilotum nudum are known as whisk ferns. Psilotum nudum is the commoner species of the two. While the P. flaccidum is a rare species and is found in the tropical islands. Both the species are usually epiphytic in habit and grow upon tree ferns.
