Hartford Union Station[edit]

Hi again.

The sign in the infobox for Hartford Union Station is the incorrect style. The red stripe is supposed to be thinner and the text should be centered according to Google Maps photos.

Here is a link confirming this: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hartford+Union+Station/@41.7687601,-72.6822922,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipNQsJKy1uRM1l-ExFSdH69BHYqzguAqSKRI79vd!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipNQsJKy1uRM1l-ExFSdH69BHYqzguAqSKRI79vd%3Dw203-h152-k-no!7i4608!8i3456!4m16!1m8!3m7!1s0x89e65366b8ee27f1:0x7937f6d67d7f7dbb!2sHartford+Union+Station!8m2!3d41.7688191!4d-72.6815714!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F1tff_jhx!3m6!1s0x89e65366b8ee27f1:0x7937f6d67d7f7dbb!8m2!3d41.7688191!4d-72.6815714!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F1tff_jhx?entry=ttu

Can you please make a new style reflecting the style of the signage at Hartford Union Station? Thanks again. Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 11:37, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Pedroperezhumberto: The infobox styles are meant to roughly replicate the actual signs; they don't have to be pixel-perfect. While it's a good idea to get the main details right (color of the text, stripe location, etc), I don't think slight differences in stripe width are worth replicating. Ah alright.
It’s because it really did annoy me because they weren’t “accurate” to its real life counterpart. If you want it to stay as it is, then I’m fine with it. Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 06:33, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, just found out how to do it and just did it. It's up on the page right now. Pedroperezhumberto (talk) 12:51, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent four redirects[edit]

Hi can you please open a discussion on all four of the page you redirected before actually deleting them? It's not right to just redirect them on a whim without appropriate concensus. I've reverted until a discussion on each is undertaken. Please don't redirect until appropriate discussions have taken place. Thanks DragonofBatley (talk) 19:36, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These are in regards to the county Durham stations I created pages for. Thanks DragonofBatley (talk) 19:37, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DragonofBatley: As I said on your talk page, you need to read and digest the notability policy. All of the station articles you are creating fail the notability requirements, which means you should not create them. As an experienced editor, you should know better.
Boldly redirecting is an accepted alternative to deletion. I will now file AfDs per process. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:43, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do know how to make articles so please don't be so disrespectful. I also have added further sources with books which are key to many articles. But see what's discussed and agreed. DragonofBatley (talk) 20:02, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DragonofBatley: Adding numerous sources with trivial mentions of the subject does not establish notability - see WP:REFBOMB. If there is not significant coverage of a subject, it's better to add information to a broader article (in these cases, the railway line) rather than trying to prop up a tiny article. DOT State of the Art Car Postcard[edit]

Hi! I was looking at your upload of the DOT SOAC postcard at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:State_Of_the_Art_Car_postcard.jpg -- this is a really cool postcard and I appreciate your committment to uploading interesting stuff about transit. I was wondering if you had a higher quality scan available, ie in a higher DPI and as a PNG or lossless TIFF image or similar; or if you knew where to find one. Thanks! Transitdragon (talk) 14:58, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Transitdragon: Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! That scan was from eBay, which unfortunately scales images to 1600 pixels wide. I just found a slightly better scan (1700px with better colors) that is now up on that same file page, but I haven't been able to find anything larger or in a lossless format. Your best bet for that might be to buy one of the postcards and scan it yourself; from a quick look I see a number of cheap listings including ones at $4 and $5.
