Farsan County (Persian: شهرستان فارسان) is in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Farsan.[2]
History
[edit]After the 2006 National Census, Mizdej-e Sofla Rural District and the city of Junqan were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Junqan District.[3] In addition, the village of Pardanjan became a city,[4] and Babaheydar District was established and divided into two rural districts.
After the 2011 census, the city of Babaheydar was transferred from the Central District to the new district as its capital. The villages of Cholicheh and Gujan rose to city status.[5] After the 2016 census, the village of Filabad was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
Demographics

[edit]At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 90,111 in 19,878 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 93,941 people in 24,747 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 95,286, in 26,914 households.[9]
