Thu People's Hero-Phillip Morris NaPier is an independent politician and candidate in the 2006 race for governor in the state of Maine. He has been the subject of controversy regarding his desire to have the ballot forms reflect what he holds to be his rightful legal name: "Thu People's Hero-Phillip Morris NaPier," to which NaPier recently changed his name.
Napier is a convicted felon and has worked to fight for the right of his fellow felons.
