There's a bunch more pictures from DragCon under flickr.com/photos/dvsross that seem to fit the proper licensing to be able to be uploaded to the Commons, but I'm not sure how to verify that (and how to upload the pictures) Cornmazes (talk) 05:21, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Cornmazes Are you familiar with Flickypedia? After logging in and inserting the Flickr album URL, Flickypedia suggested all of the images could be uploaded. I didn't want to upload lots of duplicates, so I didn't complete the process, but I think you should be able to select which images you'd like to see added to Commons. I hope this helps! ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:11, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just used it to upload a bunch more, thanks! By the way, how does one go about cropping images for the commons? Do I just download the picture and crop it on my own device, or is there a tool I should do that with on the commons itself? Cornmazes (talk) 20:23, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Cornmazes Thanks so much! I am following your work by creating subcategories at Wikimedia Commons, removing 'image needed' tags on article talk pages here at English Wikipedia (and updating the list of unillustrated bios at the top of this page), and cropping images. To answer your question, I use CropTool over at Wikimedia Commons. It is very easy to use! I hope this helps, and thanks again for work here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:53, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kaos, Morphine Love Dion

[edit]

Kaos and Morphine Love Dion in the news:

--Another Believer (Talk) 00:35, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not-so-fun fact: I'm actually featured in one of the articles in this incident (linked here: pride.com/drag-queens/morphine-love-dion), as I run a somewhat well-known drag updates account on Twitter, Drag Crave, which was quote-retweeted by multiple queens after I posted the news of the incident. No other info, just an interesting tidbit (to me) I wanted to share. Glad everyone in the car survived, and I hope that her and Kaos are on a speedy road to recovery. Halal Bae

[edit]

Halal Bae claims to be editing Halal Bae at Talk:Halal Bae, in case any project members want to review recent changes to the article and/or help make improvements to the entry. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:18, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, this is not going very well. @Diannaa, Hamtechperson, and Naraht: Thanks for trying to help. I'm not sure what else we can do here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:10, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't even in the same zip code as "going well". I'll continue to watch and there may be some of the additional info which is worthwhile, but at this point it is a coin flip between the user getting locked or the article getting bluelocked within a week or two. (If neither has happened by the end of August, I'll be *very* surprised) After that happens, I'll seriously look at some of the changes, but with some of the additions being copyvios, we may not even be able to tell what the editor wanted. This feels like watching the beginning of a car crash.:( :( Naraht (talk) 14:24, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We've asked them to follow the rules. All they have to do is ask on the Talk page how we can help, but (shrug) ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:37, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh, now a username change and continued inappropriate editing. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:49, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The user claiming to be the subject has uploaded the following images to Commons:

Are these actually usable, or will they just be deleted soon? ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:36, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My guess is that it depends on whether they are actually images an episode of RPDR (which would prove the user doesn't control them) they'll be deleted, otherwise they'll be acceptedNaraht (talk) 14:43, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change

(and not in the way we normally deal with it here User:Hb231 is now editing as User:BurtonTK1981 ). Ideas?Naraht (talk) 17:21, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno, I give up trying to help. All they have to do is share sources and make suggestions on the talk page. We don't even know for sure if the editors is the subject. We'll see if anyone else from here helps. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:26, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Drag and the Olympic Games

[edit]

Perhaps this draft page won't go anywhere, since editors are also covering the drag "controversy" in the article about the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics, but sharing here, in case any project members are interested. Currently, the draft mentions "Drag Race" nineteen times, so not entirely irrelevant. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:43, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article about girl groups within the Runiverse?

[edit]

I'm not sure I have a fully fleshed out idea here, but I'm curious if others think there might be potential to create an article along the lines of Girl groups in the Drag Race franchise. It could cover the girl group challenges within the various series, as well as other girl groups created by contestants. Lots of seasons have a girl group challenges, and sometimes the groups even go on to do other things outside the show. Thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea? Interest in collaborating? ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:14, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
