Quality assessments[edit]
An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{University of Houston}} project banner on its talk page: {{University of Houston|class=???}}
The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:Content assessment for assessment criteria):
FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class University of Houston articles) | FA | |
GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class University of Houston articles) | GA | |

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject University of Houston}}
banner on its talk page:

The following values may be used for importance assessments:
- Top - Articles are added to Category:Top-importance University of Houston articles
- High - Articles are added to Category:High-importance University of Houston articles
- Mid - Articles are added to Category:Mid-importance University of Houston articles
- Low - Articles are added to Category:Low-importance University of Houston articles
- Unknown - Any article which has not yet been assessed on the importance scale is automatically added to the Category:Unknown-importance University of Houston articles.
Importance criteria[edit]
This is a draft version of the importance criteria to use when rating. The importance rating is independent of the quality rating, and its quality should not be considered when determining its importance rating.
Top | Subject is a must-have for Category:University of Houston
|
High | Subject contributes a depth of knowledge
|
Mid | Subject fills in more minor details
|
Low | Subject is peripheral knowledge, possibly trivial
|
