The most viewed articles for August 2008, derived from historical data.
Around December 2007, the website stats.grok.se began offering comprehensive statistics where the viewcounts of all articles for each day could be reviewed. The site also contained a list of the most viewed articles for the month (though this appears to only have been done for some months). The August 2008 list is preserved at archive.org: [1]. After removing non-article pages, the below list of the Top 75 most viewed articles for August 2008 was created in December 2016.
(THE)wikistics website in operation during this same period also has August 2008 stats archived [2]. The chart there divide for hits per day. According to the 2008 FAQ for that site, small differences with stats.grok.se are due to the fact that stats.grok.se does analyses on a "UTC+1" basis.
