The 22415/22416 Varanasi - New Delhi Vande Bharat Express is India's 35th Vande Bharat Express train, connecting the city of Varanasi with the capital city of India, New Delhi.[1][2][3] This will be the 2nd Vande Bharat Express train which will run on the New Delhi-Varanasi train line after 15 February 2019.[4]

This express train was inaugurated on 18 December 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi's Barki village who was welcomed by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.[5]

Overview[edit]

This train is operated by Indian Railways, connecting Varanasi Jn, Prayagraj (Allahabad) Jn, Kanpur Ctrl and New Delhi. It is currently operated with train numbers 22415/22416 on 6 days a week basis.[6][7][8][9]

Rakes[edit]

It is the thirty-third 2nd Generation Vande Bharat Express train which was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India Initiative.[10]
