O'Connell hash[edit]

Someone else has pointed out the weird description of her first publication. It's confusing, but not complicated. Rejected by US houses, CC sold the book in England, and then at the Frankfort book fair her agent sold the US rights for $800K. The next three books in the series were published first in the UK. Like her beloved Mallory, CC is not forgiving

But the worst weirdness here, in my view, is the complete hash of pub dates and provenance. I don't have the details on hand, but a quick search at Abebooks confirms, for example, my certainty that the UK edition of Stone Angel (with a longer title) predated the US edition by about six months, I know because I bought one while visiting the UK. Likewise, the UK pub year for Killing Critics is 1996, not 1997, The Jury Must DIe was published in UK before Dead Famous. Also, many of the UK pubs have different titles than the US (notably The Man Who Lied to Women for The Man Who Cast Two Shadows, but also Murdering the Magic Men for Shell Game, The Jury Must Die for Dead Famous, and Shark Music for Find Me).

I hope someone with access to a good library takes the time to sort this all out.
