License tagging for Image:Coaltar of the deepers 2004.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Coaltar of the deepers 2004.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:07, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on WAGDUG FUTURISTIC UNITY, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because WAGDUG FUTURISTIC UNITY is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting WAGDUG FUTURISTIC UNITY, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Afront warriors.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Afront warriors.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:06, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Pay money To my Pain[edit]

A tag has been placed on Pay money To my Pain requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please don't remove maintenance notices[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for editing the page Insult Kiss Me on Wikipedia. Please be careful not to remove maintenance templates from articles without addressing the issue listed. If you believe the tag is placed in error use the article's associated talk page to explain your changes. Thank you.--Fabrictramp (talk) 18:16, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CSD:A7[edit]

Hi. :) I came across your speedy deletion tag on Tainted Reality, and I just wanted to point out to you that {{db-a7}} is specifically for people (individually or grouped) and websites. There is currently no consensus for speedily deleting other articles types under this criterion. Other articles that fail to assert notability should go through proposed deletion or articles for deletion. Thanks for keeping an eye out on article quality. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:36, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Glass Skin - Dir en grey.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Glass Skin - Dir en grey.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:40, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Watchout_Theres_Ghosts.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Watchout_Theres_Ghosts.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 09:32, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Watchout! Theres Ghosts[edit]

Another editor added a speedy-delete tag to Watchout! Theres Ghosts because the article failed to assert it's notability. I disagreed and removed the tag. However, should the article go to articles for deletion for discussion on whether to keep the article or delete it, it would probably be deleted as the band does not appear to meet Wikipedia's notability criteria yet. If they have their tour next Feburary, then a well-written article about the band would probably survive any deletion challenge. But as it stands, it probably would not. Please read notability and if there is anything you can add to the article to show that the criteria are met, please do so sooner rather than later. If the band cannot meet notability at this time, then be prepared to re-create the article when the band can meet that requirement. See Talk:Watchout! Theres Ghosts for further discussion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 03:24, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Infected Malignity[edit]

The article Infected Malignity has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Searches clearly found no considerably better coverage to suggest better notability and improvement here.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, Furik. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Guyokai moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Guyokai, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
