Kuroko no Basket is a Japanese comic about basketball by Tadatoshi Fujimaki.

The story starts off with the main character, Tetsuya Kuroko joining Seirin High School. He is very passionate about basketball. He has been playing it for five years. However, he decides to go to Seirin Basketball Club. It was only established a year ago and it is far from being recognized as a strong team.

The reason why he entered Seirin dates back to his time in Teiko Middle School. Teiko Middle School is well-known for having the best basketball team in Japan. Kuroko was one of the regular members. The other regular members are called the “Generation of Miracle”. They are known to be a genius that appear only once in ten years. Kuroko and the “Generation of Miracle” have been playing basketball under the belief “victory is everything”. It is the motto of Teiko Basketball Club.

By the time Kuroko gets in his last year, the “Generation of Miracle” becomes too good at basketball that they don’t need each other’s help to score during the match. They could do everything on their on without cooperating. After seeing them change, Kuroko starts to question if victory is really everything in playing basketball. A few months later, he and the “Generation of Miracle” graduate Teiko Middle School. The “Generation of Miracle” each go to a different high school with a strong basketball team except for Kuroko.

Kuroko decides to go to Seirin High School in search for an answer to his question. There, he meets a guy in the same year named Taiga Kagami. Kagami used to play basketball in America and he also loves basketball. Kuroko and Kagami both join Seirin Basketball Club. They determine to play against the “Generation of Miracle” and defeat them in order to change their belief, “victory is everything”. Seirin Basketball Team cooperate and starts aiming towards winning the national championship.
