I am a bit confused and definitely uninformed, so can someone advise why the 'F48'? Also, I understand the ship was designated 77 at some time, maybe LSI 77, but nothing appears in the article about this. Hoping someone can help out here. With thanks, Benyoch ...Don't panic! The F48 pennant number was for the ship's Armed Merchant Cruiser career (based on [1]). It is incredibly likely that a different pennant number (or even multiple different numbers) were assigned following her LSI conversion. If/when they can be sourced, they should be added to the article. -- saberwyn 08:59, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've found Gunplot to be rather hit-and-miss with its information, and I don't consider it an WP:RS. Although the list likely correct, I wouldn't want to add info from that site unless it could be substantiated by a more reliable source. Bastock is usually pretty good for pennants...when I do the fate check requested below, I'll also look at this. -- saberwyn 23:31, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
C77 pennant as LSI confirmed and added -- saberwyn 10:14, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I always understood Manoora sunk off Luzon (or thereabouts) while enroute to the breaker's yard. My apologies, but I have no reference for this. Does footnote 6 (Bastock, Australia's Ships of War, p. 219) detail the Taiwan break-up? I dont have access to this reference. Benyoch ...Don't panic! Don't panic!... If you have a source stating this, please supply. I will have a look at Bastock the next time I am at the relevant library, but I have no idea when that will be (likely not soon). -- saberwyn 08:59, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The Bastock entry ends on the note (paraphrasing) "...towed to Taiwan for dismantling". Although not explicitly stating it, I've gotta assume that the dismantling/scrapping went as planned, unless sources to the contrary come to light. -- saberwyn 10:14, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
