Raniero Palm is a Latin Grammy-winning audio engineer, music producer, arranger and string conductor of Italian descent who has been part of projects recognized by Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards and Arpa Awards.[1][2]

Career[edit]

At the age of 6, he began studying music at the Miguel Ángel Espinel Music School in the state of Táchira, Venezuela, where he took piano and music theory classes. At the same time, he entered the Musiyama Academy of the Yamaha Foundation of Venezuela, where he studied Electone organ for more than 7 years. At the age of 13 he entered the National System of Children and Youth Orchestras of Venezuela (Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles de Venezuela), where he studied rhythmics, choral practice, musical language and violin. In 2006, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Music at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador.[3]

In 2009, he founded the trademark and pop rock band Statika, which was highly praised by the public and whose compositions reached the peak of popularity, ranking at number one on the General list of the Record Report, a Venezuelan radio list, television and media. With Statika he went on several tours, reaching audiences of up to twenty thousand people at his live concerts.[4][5]

In 2022, he was recognized along with other musicians again at the Latin Grammy Awards, this time, for the album El Renacimiento by Carla Morrison and her song "Encontrarme", where he served as Recording Engineer and String Conductor, and in the Best Instrumental Music Album category he repeated with two albums: Ofrenda by the group Raíces de Venezuela and by Gerry Weil Sinfónico. At the Dove Awards, a nomination in the Spanish album of the year category for his work as a recording engineer on Ricardo Montaner's Fe. Likewise, he would obtain for the first time an award at the Pepsi Music Awards of Venezuela for his work on the album Ofrenda by the group Raíces de Venezuela. Closing that year, he was part of the Forever King album by Puerto Rican Don Omar for the symphonic arrangements of the song "Agradecido", with lyrics composed by Wiso G.[6][7]

In 2023, he was in charge of the soundtrack for the Venezuelan short film Indignos, together with Gabriel Lococo and Venezuela Ensemble Strings, developing a series of classic compositions that merge with history.[8] Also, he directed Felipe Peláez's Tour Sinfónico with El Sistema.[9]

In 2024, Raniero was awarded the Grammy Award in the category of Best Children's Music Album for We Grow Together by Colombian duo 123 Andrés.[10]
