Several IPs from the same general range of addresses in Bangladesh keep adding a link to a website ostensibly run by a law firm seeking clients related to vehicle accidents on I-20. Once the link was added to the external links section, but typically it is inserted as a reference even though it is clearly not an RS nor does it reference the content of the article. calltracer.in[edit]

Currently at SPI to look for sleepers, but might be worth heading future sockfarms for this URL by blacklisting. No possible encyclopaedic use from this site; the 'services' it claims to offer don't even work. A regex for calltracer.* might be in order (sorry, my regex is terrible, I'm not going to even try). — Trey Maturin 17:24, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

‎codelivly.com and pecoinvestment.com[edit]

Dear Wikipedia Moderators,
I am writing to request the removal of the site codelivly.com from the Wikipedia blacklist. As you may be aware, the site has been blacklisted due to concerns over spamming and block evasion.
However, I would like to bring to your attention that this decision may be causing undue harm to the reputation of codelivly.com, which is a legitimate website that provides valuable resources and services to the community. Moreover, the actions of a few individuals should not reflect on the entire site and its users.
In addition, the blacklisting of codelivly.com may also be affecting the ability of Wikipedia editors to access and use the site as a source of information for their articles.
I understand that the concerns over spamming and block evasion are important, but I would like to propose a more targeted approach that focuses on dealing with the specific individuals responsible for these actions, rather than punishing the entire site and its users.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your response. 2400:1A00:B060:324A:40E4:9B85:730B:673A (talk) 12:45, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Moved from MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist/Archives/December 2022. IMO this request has clearly no merit, but it should still at least be seen. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:26, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
no Declined. There's so many problems here. First, the sites were blatantly spammed by multiple accounts and multiple IPs; at that point, the only reliable way of controlling the problem is to block the domains. Second, we can see your failed attempts to re-add the spam to Day trading, so the problem would clearly recur. Third, neither of these would be a reliable source in any way - there is zero value in whitelisting or removing these from the blacklist. Fourth, we do not act on COI requests - this request comes from the same obscure range as the spammer. Fifth, these are blacklisted globally across all versions of Wikipedia, not here - you'd need to request removal there. You'll get the same response, I fear. If you're concerned about your reputation, perhaps you could consider more ethical approaches to promoting your sites? Sam Kuru (talk) 11:48, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
