census2011.co.in[edit]

census2011.co.in: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com This has been declined before, but the situation has changed somewhat. The official Census of India site ([1]) has been basically dead for something like 18 months now. On the off chance that it decides to work (95% of the time it does not even load), the search function often does not work, and when it does, the site does not permit linking directly to individual census entries the way it used to. All of this makes the official site effectively a dead link and useless as a reference. The 2021 Census of India has been delayed numerous times because of COVID. Currently it's set for October 2023 but there's no reason to think it won't be delayed further than that. It could be years before new official census data is live.

Census2011.co.in is an accurate mirror that uses data taken from the original 2011 census. I have been working on obscure Indian villages for several years now and never found a discrepancy between Census2011.co.in and the official data (when it was available). It has the added advantage of being far better organized and interlinked (most importantly, you can link to a list of villages in a tehsil or district, a function the official census does not provide).

Long story short, it would be very helpful to me and anyone else working in obscure Indian villages to be able to use this site, given that the official site is defunct and there is no timeline on a replacement.

Ping to Beetstra as the admin who SBL'd it in 2019 (SBL discussion, RSN discussion) and Sitush as requester. I'm willing to consider removal given my trust for PMC's judgment. GeneralNotability (talk) 01:18, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GeneralNotability since no one replied to your ping from the other week, any thoughts about actioning this? ♠PMC(talk) 22:12, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I kindly request a reconsideration based on the reasons listed below. Here https://en.wikipedia.org/?diff=1050587499 information about the recent ( from Sep 2021 ) change in the qualification process in England and Wales was added. It was inserted into the Education section of the article as it was highly relevant to reflect the changes as the new centralised exam was introduced that replaced the previous ways to qualify. Further reference was given to the page that provides more information about the SQE. So, this post and reference to the site benefited Wikipedia as it updated the article’s content. Here https://en.wikipedia.org/?diff=1050588523#cite_note-15 an update was inserted letting the audience know that the qualification route to become a solicitor of England and Wales has drastically changed. This information was added to the section Training and qualifications. It was purported to inform the public that the QLTS (one of the previous routes to qualify) was replaced by the SQE. It also further specified that it is now the ONLY route to qualify as a solicitor, as it was not really clear from the text. The quote made the article more complete, so it benefited Wikipedia, providing the readers with the reference to the site that is highly informative and includes a lot of unique analytical materials about the SQE. The authors constantly research the topics above, and I think that their knowledge and research in this area may benefit the public and Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Darrad1706 (talk • contribs) 10:50, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SeeWikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dorothymikey - all the above users were created since 10 January and everyone one has made a single edit - to add a page from this website as an article reference. No other contributions. I have removed every instance of their work so you won't find the website now, but given the number of accounts created (right up to today) there's no reason to think it won't carry one - hence the blacklist request. 10mmsocket (talk) 09:02, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
