English: This small painting on copper is on display in the Boerhaave museum in Leiden, and illustrates a story from the book "Observationes Medicae" by Nicolas Tulp, published in 1641. Text (in a strange combination of Latin and Spanish) written on displayed paper: 'Cathalina Pannemakers años nata LXXXIX.VI.Kal January anno MDCXXVII. Praeter conchylia haec micta.Hunc calculum amstelredami spon'e ex.'
Later version from 1740 published edition is further embellished and the name Cathalina Pannemaker added to the story.
