Elisabeth Epps is an American activist and politician serving as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives for the 6th district. Elected in November 2022, she assumed office on January 9, 2023.
Early life and education
[edit]Epps was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.[1] She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.[2]
Career
[edit]Epps is the founder of the Colorado Freedom Fund, a non-profit bail fund organization that provides financial support to individuals who are unable to post bail.[3][4] She was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in November 2022 and assumed office on January 9, 2023.[5]
She is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.[6]
Gun control
[edit]In 2023, Epps supported legislation that would ban assault weapons.[7]
In 2024, Epps supported similar legislation that would ban assault weapons.[8]
