Diogo Lucas Queirós (born 5 January 1999) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liga I club Farul Constanța.

Club career[edit]

Porto[edit]

Born in Matosinhos, Porto District, Queirós joined Porto's youth system at the age of 11 from local club Leixões.[3] He made his debut as a senior on 27 August 2017, playing 90 minutes for the reserve team in a 1–0 home win against Santa Clara in the LigaPro.[4] The previous June, he had renewed his contract until 2021.[3]

On 27 August 2019, Queirós was loaned to Mouscron of the Belgian Pro League.[5] His maiden appearance in the competition took place three days later, in a 2–2 away draw with Mechelen.[6] He played 21 total games during his spell, and scored in a 2–0 home victory over Kortrijk on 15 September.[7]

Famalicão[edit]

Queirós signed a three-year deal with Famalicão on 6 October 2020.[8] He appeared in his first Primeira Liga match on 7 November, starting and finishing the 2–1 home defeat of Marítimo.[9][10]

On 31 August 2021, Queirós moved to Spanish Segunda División side Real Valladolid on a one-year loan with an option to buy.[11] The following 30 January, after just eight competitive appearances, his loan was cut short.[12]

Queirós totalled only three games in his last two seasons at the Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho.[13][14][15]

Farul Constanța[edit]

On 21 June 2023, Queirós joined Farul Constanța of the Romanian Liga I.[16] He made his official debut on 8 July, in a 1–0 loss against Sepsi OSK in the Supercupa României.[17] He scored his first goal the following month, closing the 3–0 home win over Flora in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.[18]

International career[edit]

Queirós won the 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship with Portugal. He started the first game against Italy, being sent off in the 3–2 loss for his only appearance in the tournament.[19]

Queirós was also part of the squad at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He played three matches in the group-stage exit.[20][21][22]

On 5 September 2019, Queirós won his first cap at under-21 level, scoring in the 4–0 win over Gibraltar for the 2021 European Championship qualifiers.[23] Selected for the finals as captain,[24] he opened a 3–0 victory against Switzerland in the group phase[25] for the eventual runners-up.[26]
