Autopatrolled

User:Ednabrenze

I regularly create new articles until I took a break to focus on work and studies. I have now concluded the studies and have retuned to creating new articles. I am requesting this right to help bring down the large number of articles waiting for reviewers attentions as articles I create will no longer join the queue if this is granted.  Not done Your creations are generally ok, no red flags, but they come off a little bare-bones and should probably still be reviewed. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 22:49, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the comment. You said the articles are generally ok "but they come off a little bare-bones and should probably still be reviewed". Are they policy or guideline breaches? Could you please explain what this mean so that I can learn from it. But if you're referring to the size of the articles, I write based on the material available and what could be supported with reliable independent secondary sources. If there are no policy breaches, I request that you reconsider it. Cheers! Ednabrenze (talk) 05:05, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just so you know, Just Step Sideways, I've had a further look following Ednabrenze's request. I didn't get any further than their latest article. I edited the article in small steps so that the edit summaries give a detailed report what needed fixing. Each edit dealt with one to three issues only. In total, I made eighteen edits. Ednabrenze, the expectation is that editors who get autopatrolled are able to consistently produce clean articles that are free of issues. The Charles Okah edits show that you aren't there yet. User:Koavf

For months I've been enforcing WP:GRP#Global rollbackers/Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers/Archive 37#Autopatrol and global rollback by manually marking Koavf's articles as unreviewed after their autopatrolled permission was revoked as a consequence of events having nothing to do with autopatrolled in January 2024. Since none of those articles have needed significant attention from new page patrol AFAICS, I suggest that user right be restored. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:37, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you and for what it's worth I accept the nomination and would also hope that I can get the user right to reduce this administrative overhead. ―Justin (koavf)T☮C☺M☯ 18:39, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The entry in the rights log says "May appeal removal with a consensus at WP:AN per current convention." I'm not sure that's actually binding though. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 21:40, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Looking over the permission, and as "edit-warring" was the rationale, I went ahead and restored the userright, since this is an auto-action and not itself an "active edit". If this ends up also being an issue, any uninvolved admin is welcome to re-remove without contacting me.
As for restoration of other user-rights, just follow whatever the current convention for appeal is. My understanding is that would be a consensus at WP:AN. To find out if perhaps there is some other convention, likely also requires a consensus at WP:AN, so either way, I think WP:AN is likely where such discussions are likely to end up. I hope this helps. - jc37 01:35, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
